Why Peacock canceled one of us is lied

The novels for young adults (and the adaptations of subsequent films and television) were all the rage in the 2000s, and they returned with revenge in recent years. They are like low height jeans. Fans of adolescents therefore had a lot to excite when it was announced that Peacock would adapt the novel of Ya 2017 “One of Us is Louning”, by author Karen M. McManus, in a television series.
The story is essentially “The Breakfast Club” if it was written by Agatha Christie. In fact, if you are a fan of the best films inspired by Christie’s works, it is worth watching even if you are not familiar with source equipment. Five students are detained, including Simon (Mark McKenna), who exploits a blog that spreads gossip on other children. Simon dies unexpectedly by serving his punishment, and it is not an accident. An investigation follows with regard to the light that all other students had a reason to kill him.
Season 2 of “a of us is lie” made its debut in October 2022. A few months later, in January 2023, the news broke out of the deadline that Peacock would not go with more episodes. According to the report: “The deadline understands that Peacock leaders were satisfied with the two programs in a creative way, but they simply did not find the public required to justify new seasons.” Low television can land any series. But it is strange in this case because it would be assumed that fans of the book would have settled more in mass. However, looking back, 2023 was simply not a good time for new live adaptations, especially those of the YA genre.
One of us is a lie had follow -up to develop if it had not been canceled
The announcement of the cancellation of Peacock “one of us” came with the news that “Vampire Academy” would also get the ax after a single season. “Vampire Academy” was released in September 2023, so it really did not have enough time to build an audience. Later in 2023, Netflix canceled the YA series “Shadow and Bone”, so it was a difficult time to be a fan of Ya Stories.
“One of us is on the list of New York Times bestsellers for five years. There should have been a ton of fans waiting in the wings to check it, and that does not seem to be the kind of series that would have cost a lot of money to produce, in particular with a largely unknown distribution. And there could have been many opportunities to expand this world in season 3 and beyond. The original book has generated two suites – “one of us is the next” and “one of us is back”. Interestingly, season 2 of “one of us lies” does not really adapt the second book but continues a new story.
The money lining to all this is that there is a solution for anyone who wants to continue to be immersed in this world, and it is to take a book and to start reading. But with these cancellations, perhaps the adaptation trend ya is about to disappear … like low height jeans.
