Fox was something with a gold mine with “9-1-1”. Created by Ryan Murphy, the mega producer behind “American Horror Story” and a host of other successful programs, the series goes to its ninth season and has broadcast much more than 100 episodes. Most importantly, he gave birth to a whole universe of shows, including his first spin-off, “9-1-1: Lone Star”, which ended his five-season race earlier this year.

The series follows Owen Strand (Rob Lowe), a New York firefighter who relocates to Austin, Texas, to focus on the safeguard of those who are most vulnerable, while fighting to solve the problems of his own life. Liv Tyler also played in the first season because, essentially, the co-leader of the program Michelle Blake, a paramedical captain trying to locate his sister (who has been disappearing for several years).

Tyler is perhaps best known as Arwen in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, as well as films like the 1998 Hit Smash “Armageddon” and the classic Horror of Home “The Strangers”. However, her time on “Lone Star” was short -lived because she left the series after a single season. But why? Tyler had a multi-season contract, so it would have been welcome.

Everything was summed up in circumstances beyond Tyler or the control of someone else. In 2020, Hollywood was shaken by the Pandemic of Covid-19, which closed almost all the films or televisions for months. Then, when things resumed, there were new risks with the continuous propagation of the virus. This is what finally led Tyler’s departure from the successful show.

“What a shiver it was to have a movie star from Liv Tyler’s stature to help us launch the first season of ‘9-1-1: Lone Star” “like the co-creator of the Tim Minear series told Deadline in 2020 when he was revealed that Tyler would not come back for season 2.” Michelle’s story, as with Connie Britton on our mother vessel, we also have the impression that there are more stories to tell.
