Why is the recruit of Miami Dolphins, the recruit, is Ollie Gordon II no more shots? It is a popular question that fans are asking in the middle of the 0-2 start of the team for the 2025 seasonAnd that’s a good question for that.
Gordon had an impressive pre -season, the planned RB2 of the team – Jaylen Wright – is injured, and Miami’s racing game could use someone with Gordon’s physics. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel was questioned on Monday, and he gave an overview of Gordon’s role.
“We had planned to play him a little more, and you adapt to the game,” said McDaniel. “I think whatever the clichés in the first half, so you somehow enter the rhythm of the second half, and it’s a kind of different ball game at that time.”
“His key is – I spoke out of the ball one tonne – it was great to see him do a game on the transport of Malik (Washington) who was instinctive and really added to the overall gain of the play just by his efforts and his understanding of what we are trying to do.
Gordon only played 18 offensive snaps for two games and has only three races for 12 yards, with two catches for 4 yards. It was a slow start for the recruit, but he showed a little pop in these limited opportunities.
So what gives? Well, McDaniel’s first point on the game script is actually fair.
The Dolphins match plan seemed to include Gordon before the week, but they were late at the start of the first quarter. The patriots’ offensive burst and that of Miami did not start well.
The same thing happened against the colts. Indianapolis took an advance with two scores, so the dolphins had to launch the ball to try to catch up. Miami has the least attempts to have a hurry in the league this season (27), the next closest team is the Bengals of Cincinnati with 40.
Executing the ball is often a process. He can take time to start tearing off big races, and it literally takes more from time to time. When you are instantly decreasing by two scores, it’s time you don’t have.
So, even if it is frustrating that Gordon does not see the field, it was not only he who was put aside – it is Miami’s racing game. This facet cannot be a priority while dragging, and Gordon is not even the starting ball carrier.
The other half of McDaniel’s comment also deserves to be examined because it has been consistent on this subject since the summer. Miami’s head coach wants to see Gordon runs as well when he doesn’t have the ball as when he does.
It looks like the coach, but running backs have a lot of responsibilities outside the driving of the ball and the capture of passes, especially in the Miami offensive.
Sunday was in fact an excellent example of Gordon showing certain signs of growth and where he must improve in this area.
The recruit that did the back did an excellent blocking job for Malik Washington on this race game. Gordon withdraws into space and obtains a good piece from the second, Robert Spillane, who tries to adapt this race to the outside.

The Gordon block is not part of Washington a ton of additional yards, and this is one of the best ways that Gordon can prove that it deserves more repetitions. He is a larger back (6-2, 225), and he likes to start contact.
When you are looking for runners that can provide blocking value, these are the features you want and Gordon has them in the shovel.
Although this is a good sign, Gordon made at least one error without the ball on Sunday. He was called to a false departure at the end of the fourth quarter when he started going back in motion at the same time, Tanner Conner, Tanner Conner.
The quarter-Arrière Tua Tagovailoa tried to ensure that Conner ceased to pass through the training, but it was too late at that time, and Gordon was reported.
It was a classic recruit error, but in Miami’s offensive, runners are often invited to manage complex pre-Snap movements. If Gordon cannot do this, it will be difficult to put it on the ground.
It seems that the Dolphins want to involve Gordon. Even if he still arrives, McDaniel said that the plan was for him to double the clichés he obtained against the patriots.
The key is that Miami plays in a game that does not require it to dig up a multi-score hole. If the dolphins can stick to the invoices for at least the beginner part of the game on Thursday, there is a good chance that Gordon will get more likely.
Miami has spent the whole offense talking about a reconstruction of the racing game. This was mainly Fool’s gold in the McDaniel era, but they deserve a certain grace, given the way in which the first two games took place.
