Why did Maeve warned Gina far from Eddie in season 1 of Mobland, episode 9, and what is his real relationship with him?

Warning: Major Spoilers to come for episode 9 of Mobland
The dynamics of the most confusing character in the criminal drama of Paramount + Mobland is undoubtedly the relationship between Maeve Harrigan by Helen Mirren and his grandson Eddie, represented by Anson Boon. The two characters proved to be downright disturbed alone, but Maeve pulling Eddie’s strings as a great architect in the war between the Harrigans and Stevensons makes them particularly dangerous. While Eddie displays many of his own psychopathic trends, it is Maeve who is the real shot not only for Eddie, but generally for Conrad (and, by extension, the whole Empire of Harrigan crime) too.
Eddie’s narcissism was not enough to scare Gina Da Souza, Harry’s teenage girl, who found herself trapped in the Harrigans manor when the war between the two families started correctly. In her fear and her frustration of being essentially forced in captivity, she found comfort in Eddie’s arms despite her comicly incompetent attempts to appear sensitive to attract him. However, in episode 9 of MoblandMaeve clearly indicates that she wants Gina anywhere near her beloved grandson, and in doing so, calls into question the nature of her own relationship with the boy.

Maeve Warning Gina Far from Eddie concerns the status – and Harry
Maeve does not believe that Gina is worthy of her grandson
Maeve’s ill -placed feeling of misplaced pride is apparently at the heart of her desire to keep Gina far from Eddie. The Matriarch Harrigan has the kind of old -fashioned mentality, royalty / nobility that makes her think that Eddie deserves someone worthy of his education (which, once again, Maeve has enlarged in his head). As a daughter of one of the harrigans employees, she is not a form in shape for Eddie.

In addition to that, Maeve does not trust Harry Da Souza One Iota, so there is no reason why she would allow her daughter to comfort herself with her grandson (who knows all her secrets). Maeve has already planted seeds with Conrad that Harry is a traitor to throw Conrad of his perfume, so It is logical that she would not want Gina to approach the inner circle of the Harrigans that Harry. Harry and Gina are both intelligent and perceptive, in addition to everything else, marking them like two people that the perfidious maeve wanted the length of the arm.
There is probably more in the relationship of Maeve & Eddie that we do not know
Something has seemed to be off since the start of Mobland
However, there could be a deeper reason why Maeve wants to keep Gina from Eddie away. Since Maeve withdrew the cocaine from his bra to share with her grandson, the energy between the two felt strange, in particular given the revelation that Maeve was behind Eddie’s maneuver. Then, at the dinner at the end of episode 9, There was a particularly annoying moment in which Maeve put his hand on Eddie’s leg while offering advice to Alice on how to manage men.
It seems that the public lacks key information on the nature of Eddie and Maeve’s relationship. There has been a loose involvement that Maeve has an inappropriate craze for his grandson, but there was no reason or history to support this. It could simply be considered a demonstration of the way Maeve Harrigan is really unstable, but anyway, Their relationship is much more complex than a grandmother who simply takes care of her only grandson.
Why did Eddie speak to Conrad de Maeve?
His fear probably prevails over his loyalty
Episode 9 opens with Conrad confronted with Eddie in his room as he wakes up. The conversation they occurred out of screen, but during the aforementioned dinner, he revealed that Eddie confirmed everything Maeve had compressed to his grandfather, who had a lot of his own suspicions to start. Maeve apparently looked for Eddie at each turn, so at first glance, it seems strange that he abandoned his greatest defender just because Conrad twisted his arm a little.
However, the brief scene in which Eddie asks the dog who worse between the two gives an overview. Just as the dog has been written, Eddie feels completely trapped in his current situation, taken between his grandmother and her grandfather. While Maeve apparently cares about him, his loyalty was probably replaced by his fear of Conrad. He grew up by being informed of the myth of Conrad “The Dread” “100 Guns” Harrigan, the most dreaded crime of London. If Conrad makes a request, it has priority for Eddie because he knows what is happening if he refuses.
Mobland Episode 9 does not exclude Eddie being Conrad’s son
In fact, this could strengthen the case for this
When Conrad appears for the first time in Eddie’s room, he addresses the young man as a “son”, who could certainly be a family / grandfather game. However, This could actually be a brief clue on the true identity of Eddie, it is that he is in fact the son of Conrad with Bella Harrigan. The public knows that Conrad was involved with Bella before marrying Kevin, when she was only 20 years old and that Conrad was over 50. Eddie certainly shares more in common with Conrad’s personality than his alleged father, Kevin, who still strengthens the concept.
In addition to that, episode 9 saw Kevin react with Rage when his former prison goalkeeper Alan Rusby spoke of Kevin’s child. This marks the second moment in which Kevin stole the handle, the first of which occurred when Maeve mentioned “the other brother” of Kevin in episode 8. The dominant theory is that Eddie Harrigan is not Kevin’s son but that of Conrad, and would therefore be “the other brother” that Maeve mentions could inherit the Harrigan Empire.
However, if Eddie is in fact the illegitimate child of Conrad, it is not very logical that Maeve is so protective; You might think that she would hate him as she does Seraphina. However, when you think about everything Maeve has pushed Eddie towards, the whole image begins to make sense. Maeve encouraged him to kill Tommy Stevenson, who has accomplished nothing except to put his life in danger Like the main target of Richie Stevenson’s anger. She also made him an accomplice of his machinations against Conrad, also putting him in the reticle of his grandfather.
It seems more likely that Eddie is not in fact the beloved grandson that Maeve wants him to look like. In reality, Maeve can play a long idiotKnowing that Eddie was treated as the legitimate son of Bella and Kevin made him more protected. It is clear that Eddie is supposed to be the future of the family as a white man, so Maeve can actually fall to his fall Mobland In contrast to protecting and supporting it.
