The Dark Agenda of Dean Cipher revealed by Hamish Linklater

Warning: There are upcoming spoilers for season 2 of Gen V, episodes 1-3.Hamish linklater breaks down the dark motivations of Dean Cipher in Gen V Season 2. The new season of Boys The Spinoff series reveals that Cipher is in charge of Godolkin University after the death of Dean Indira Shetty in season 1.
In Gen V Season 2, episodes 1-3, Cipher focuses particularly on research, then the training of Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair). Meanwhile, he also manipulates Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) and pushes a fiercely pro-Supe and anti-human program.
Speaking with ScreenI Joe Deckelmeier, Linklater was invited to know how Cipher wanted to reshape the Godolkin University and what is his vision for students. Linklater’s response reveals Cipher’s ultimate program and how Marie is part of it. Discover his comments below:
He tries to make a master race from a master race. It is his idea, and his tool will be Marie. He thinks it is she who will give him supremacy on the other supremacist, Homelander.
Cipher already feeling as if he had two steps ahead of everyone, we also asked Linklater if his character considers students, Vought or Homelander (Antony Starr) as his biggest threat.
Well, you should always be careful with Homelander. This is rule n ° 1. Then these annoying children, they are also a problem. I don’t know the polarity. He does not know that the polarity will be the biggest problem for him.
In addition to his motivations, Linklater explains how Cipher and Polarity (Sean Patrick Thomas) represent two ends of stories on the consequences of uncontrolled power.
Well, we do it, we represent this. But I think Cipher thinks he will understand the bypass solution. I mean, frankly, if he can build Marie in a creature as powerful as he thinks, so she will take care of all that these side effects could be of these superpowers, then her army will really be strong.
What it means for season 2 of generation V 2
Cipher’s pro-supe and anti-human position apparently makes him the perfect leader of Godolkin and an appropriate instrument for Homelander. Linklater’s comments prove the opposite, however, because he underlines that Cipher wants to use Marie so that he can have supremacy on Homelander himself.
For the moment, Cipher is careful not to deposit Homelander, and this understands that Cate does not contact him. Although this threat is obvious, the polarity presents another type of danger than Cipher underestimates, and Linklater confirms that this will become the biggest problem for the dean in subsequent episodes.
After the death of Andre Anderson (Chance Perdomo), the polarity is determined to obtain justice for the death of his son and to hold a responsible figure. At present, Cipher is strongly focused on Marie and does not pay enough attention to polarity.
Unlike the polarity, however, Linklater also suggests that Cipher will find a bypass solution for the use of too much power. Such a bypass solution will probably not come from Marie, however, because she is too intelligent and based on principles to allow Cipher to manipulate her.
Linklater’s frightening performance has already been one of the best parts of season 2, and its comments make me even more intrigued to see where its history is going. Part of this intrigue will see in which its powers are Gen VBecause even the other characters do not know what they are.
I am also intrigued by Linklater’s remarks on polarity, and their possible confrontation will be incredibly emotional. As for comments on Homelander, I would not be surprised if it appears later in Gen V Season 2 and kills Cipher after learning the dean plans to usurper.
