Who has QB1 Edge among the Spencer Rattle, Tyler Shough and Jake Haener of saints? “ I was the best quarter-arre on the field ”, says one of them

Metairie, Louisiana-While the pressure ended on Tyler Shough during a two-minute exercise Thursday, the quarter-arre recruit of the Saints of New Orleans closed.
The “foot has taken the foot” of Shough, he explained later, but he still tried to lift a jet.

The choice of draft of the second round of 2025 knew even before the security Jordan Howden interprets the pass that his decision was defective.
“I launched it late in the middle and it was just a bit of a Cardinal Sin of the quarter-Arrière, where you cannot do this-especially if you are unbalanced,” Shuch told Yahoo Sports on Thursday afternoon. “It was completely on me, I just put to win, and it is something you never want to do.”
The undesirable end of the first series of Shough in part 11 against 11 of training frustrated him on Thursday. Then he achieved an expected opportunity. Head coach Kellen Moore and offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier told Shuch: Yes, you have launched an interception. But prepare to leave.

Shough has completed its next two minutes by hitting the receiver Mason Tipton for a touch of 15 yards in the middle after a double move.

The saints praised Shuch’s resilience.
“I care more about how they react to the interception that of an interception has occurred, especially at the moment,” Moore told Yahoo Sports. “Obviously, it will have to change as you go. [But] There are tests and lessons, and I don’t think there is something wrong with that. »»
With three quarters internally and none locked themselves as a starter in 2025, the saints test and learn their way to a quarter-Arrière decision. A single quarter a day receives representatives from the first team because Moore wishes to help them establish a pace. But the QB1 of the day has moved throughout the training camp while the saints aim to eliminate the variables in their players’ comparisons.

New Orleans 2024 Pick of Fifth Round Spencer Rattle took the representatives of the first team on Thursday, following a two-minute series which ended with a pass struck with the melee line (the chances of salvation Mary are not granted in the exercise) with its own touch to the receiver Rashid Shaheed.

Rattler, certainly with the best surrounding casting, looked the strongest in New Orleans trio on Thursday – and it is very confident that he will win the concert. But it is unlikely that the saints will make a decision up to at least after their pre-season match of August 10 against the Los Angeles chargeers.
Pre-season matches are data points that coaches are worth, a lens in the way the quarters about the physicity of plated and live bags, and a goal in the way they sail on operations and use the pace on the melee line.

There will not yet be a QB1 in New Orleans.
“Whenever it happens, it happens,” said Moore. “I couldn’t put a calendar on it and, obviously, the sooner you make the decision, the more these guys get representatives only with these. But we will let these guys compete.
“Right now, these three guys get fairly balanced representatives.”
What are Rattler, Haener and Shough bring to the table?
Selected in the fourth round of the NFL 2023 draft, Jake Haener, 26, is the oldest and oldest quarter of the young quarter-back room in Saints.
Each of the three candidates was written by New Orleans, one in each of the last three projects. Only Shough was selected with the blessing of the current coach staff, which Moore gathered after having coordinated the Super Bowl offensive of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Although this can help his long -term case, Shough must first overcome his place as the least experienced in the room.
Rattler started six games last season while Haener started one. The saints have lost them all in the middle of a wave of injuries and the seasonal coach Dennis Allen, the two parts of context Moore and his staff are considering when treating the relevance of losses.
Rattler completed 57% of the 228 passenger attempts for 1,317 yards, four affected and five interceptions during its inatched recruit beginnings. Haener completed 46.2% of his 39 attempts, launching 226 yards, a touchdown and an interception.

“Gettin ‘launched in this fire earlier than expected last year … Waked me up,” said Rattle to Yahoo Sports. “I think I grew up a lot. I really feel more decisive now. I just feel like I can use my legs more, it’s an advantage for me.
“And then play for free – play my style of play.”
Rattler expects that Moore’s style accentuated his own style, the introduction of more concepts without hindrance and the tempo than the Shanahan system from last year, adapting both its athletic forces and its personality.
“It’s certainly faster, play with fanfaron, tempo,” said Rattle. “Distribute the ball like a leader, do it to game leaders. And we have a lot.”

Haener took a late start on the physical element of the acclimatization to the new system, a torn oblique the touch to Minicamp in June. But Haener is based on his university experiences to understand the concepts that Moore teaches, with Haener to first play for the head coach of Moore, Chris Petersen, in Washington, then the quarter of an offense coordinated by Moore’s brother, Kirby, in Fresno State.
This, associated with the high level of detail and efficiency of Moore, smooths the transition from the system.
“The way he installs things, he allows us to be in his head,” Haener told Yahoo Sports. “He will mention things like: ‘Hey, that [one] Concept we have, it’s a completion game. This is what I say in the second and 8 years, it is something I want, it is a game focused on the completion to bring us into the third and to manage in front of the sticks.
“When it allows us to hear his reflection process … We understand better what he wants with a specific game.”

Shuch hopes that understanding will be a force of its over time, believing that its mental treatment and its strong arm have strengthened its draft stock after the injuries extended its university career over seven years. He practiced game calls with his wife, starting with training and protections and graduates to play and play families. Shough said that his greatest adjustment was the use of a quarter of work and movements by Moore.
“It’s just a lot on our plate,” said Shough. “We must make sure that divisions are the benchmarks and movement points and that things can do or undo the game.
“”[Moore] Makes a very good job of using movements and changes and various ways to present it in La Défense. »»

Rattle, Shough and Haener each expressed their confidence in their game and their ability to win the starting station during Thursday interviews with Yahoo Sports. Their language and reasoning have changed, but everyone reported an expectation that he could and will start for the franchise.
Rattler was not confused when the saints selected Shough with the 40th choice in total in April.
“I know what I bring to the table,” said Rattler, who noted that he had taken the representatives of the second team but not on the days when representatives of the first team were allocated elsewhere. “I was confident in what I can do in this competition. I have the impression that it leads the best of me. And I have the impression throughout this camp, I was the best quarter-rear on the field.
“So I want to continue and continue to show the team, continue to show the guys, continue to show the coaches that I want to be this guy.”

Shough’s confidence was more broadly directed to the state of mind with which he approached the pre-trafic process and continued his recruit.

“I’m going to go there and compete, have fun doing it, and it’s not going perfectly,” he said. “But I’m going to be the last standing at the end of the day if I can do something.”
Haener drew the confidence of his touch of fourth and 15 red zone to finish training on Thursday, a game call he said that Moore allowed him to choose and implement. One day and Thursday, when he took representatives from the third team, he was aimed at maximizing these shots and proving that he brings something to the quarter-Arrière room.
“I know what I am able to do,” said Haener. “I know I’m a good player. I know that I can play in this league for a long time and at the end of the day, it only awaits this opportunity. ”
In mid-August, one of the quarters of the saints will have an QB1 opportunity. Each of the three candidates leaves questions to answer. But Moore and the saints will seek answers from a group that insists that it is friendly in the middle of healthy competition.

Rattler and Haener enter into 2nd year of competition against each other, the duo is fighting this week in bowling and individual exercises.
Haener has ahead of RATTLER by a completion during an individual exercise on Wednesday, Haener completing 8 of the 11 throws to Rattler 7. Everyone looked for the best of the other, total completions to the emulation of 20 yards.
Moments like that convince the quarters of the saints that their room will go well anyone who won the work of week 1 – and it doesn’t matter if the starter of week 1 maintains his job during the regular season.
“I have already participated in competitions and it is not always as good as this one, where sometimes a guy is not sure of himself and he has a particular way about him,” said Haener. “I don’t think this piece at all. I think we are all comfortable with whom we are. We are all confident in the games of each other. We respect each other with each other.

“At the end of the day, we know that the coach will put the guy who, according to him, will be able to win the most games on the field. And as I said, we are all going to be back.”
