Where the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears stand heading into Week 7
GREEN BAY
Week 6 result: Green Bay 27, Cincinnati 18
Offensive rank: 9th (359.6)
Significant offense: 8th (26.2)
Defensive rank: 5th (280.2)
Notable defense: 10th (20.4)
Beginner artist: First-round pick Matthew Golden is establishing himself as a reliable weapon among the Packers’ receiving corps. He’s a big threat down the field with his speed, and he leads Green Bay in yards per reception with 15.1 on 14 receptions for 212 receiving yards. He had eight receptions for 146 yards in Green Bay’s last two games, both wins.
Quotable: “That’s Josh’s game,” Packers quarterback Jordan Love said of running back Josh Jacobs’ 150-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Bengals. “You see what he does when he gets it. I don’t think a lot of people want to attack him when he’s rolling. He’s one of those guys, just give him the ball, let him go eat.”
Twentyman: The Packers returned to winning ways on Sunday and still appear to be Detroit’s biggest challenge for a third straight NFC North title. The Packers are the only team in the division to rank in the top 10 both offensively and defensively this season. They have new players and young players taking on important roles and they will only get better as the season goes on, provided they avoid injuries.
Afterwards : at Arizona (2-4), Sunday October 19, 4:25 p.m.
