Where are Gibbs & McGee (and why they can’t help))

After months of waiting, NCIS: Tony & Ziva is finally available for fans with Paramount +, but the return of these favorite characters of the fans does not mean that they will be immediately to rope their former colleagues in the adventure. Even put aside the rather important story Nis Season 23, characters like Gibbs and McGee have good reasons not to show their faces yet.
Naturally, many fans could make entire wishes lists Nis row Tony & Ziva It would be fun to see. Despite the inherent nostalgia hook to see Tiva together, NCIS: Tony & Ziva Always has its own distinct story to tell outside the flagship series. This is particularly true after the events of Nis Final of season 22.
Gibbs is in Alaska and McGee is in the navy court with McRT during NCIS: Tony & Ziva
The European framework of the spin-off is not exactly a short trip
Because NCIS: Tony & ZivaThe chronology of the period fills the gaps since the last time the characters were seen, where the others are located Nis The characters are subject to change. However, The main scenario will always follow the adventures of David and Dinozzo in the presentThis complicates bringing it characters from the lighthouse who no longer look like appearing enough to appear in the chronology of the flashback.
Although Nis Episode 200 suggested that isolation would be a negative result for Gibbs, Jethro withdrew to Alaska to take advantage of the first feeling of real reality that he has felt since the death of his family. He recently spent his retirement telling the most depressed parties of his life through NCIS: OriginsBut it’s nice to see him kissing a hobby in addition to the boats.
Meanwhile, Tim and the rest of the MCRT are always involved in their work at the Navy Yard, where they must be short of resources, because the real NCIS has moved to Quantico a number of years ago. It means that Apparently, no character who knows Tony and Ziva are in fact near them during the current scenario.
Even if the actors seem different now, it is probably at least to wonder if they could appear at the beginning NCIS: Tony & Ziva When history fills whites from past years. But This chronology always places the main Nis throw abroad Tony & ZivaEuropean framework. And they can’t drop everything to help their friends.
Gibbs was retired and McGee is busy with his official work during the Tony & Ziva crisis
It is ironically the worst time for NCIS to organize a meeting
Thanks to NCIS: Tony & ZivaThe liberation window overlapping with the first network series, a very first franchise on a scale Nis Crossing is a very real possibility. Unfortunately, to cross Tony & Ziva With the flagship product would not be much meaning for the moment. Not only should the spin-off develop its own identity, but there are also relevant history problems.
Gibbs’ Nis The retirement of season 3 ended on behalf of Ziva, so it seems reasonable that she and Tony can unravel him again in their history. But The previous return of Gibbs allowed him to catch up with his failure to prevent the disaster in his last mission. Now that he has retired according to his own conditions, Tiva would probably not feel comfortable withdrawing it.
Maybe they would feel more comfortable contacting someone like McGee or Palmer to get help, but it would also be difficult. With Nis Carla Marino’s scenario of season 23 about to hit the ground, Parker asks all hands on the bridge to help translate his father’s killer to court. Unless Carla rebounds in Europe, no one will cross the paths with Tiva.
In addition, the tales of the series move quickly. NCIS: Tony & Ziva Season 1 will only be two episodes when Nis First of season 23So the MCRT should catch Carla immediately to find time for a European meeting. And if Tiva has not asked for help from their friends by then, there will not be much time for it to happen.
Will one of the main characters in the NCIS appear in Tony & Ziva?
There are better arguments against this (but nothing has been excluded)
Put aside various conflicts of history, the possibility of at least some MCRT colleagues who present themselves in NCIS: Tony & Ziva is not eccentric. In fact, it was revealed at 2025 Nis Panel in San Diego Comic-Con which Jimmy stayed in touch with Tony and sent him gifts to give to Tali. He would be a shoo-in for a cameo.
Michael Weatherly himself hinted another cameo that he could like to see in a recent Television guide interview. Unfortunately, Weatherly also refers to this same interview as There will probably be no particularly major Nis row Tony & Ziva For at least the first season. As Weatherly explains quite reasonably, the spin-off must first find its own legs:
“”I think that in the initial exit of [NCIS: Tony & Ziva]It was really important that I felt like I was in their own world and that we had to somehow build and understand this world. Because it is more anchored in a way. There is less music that tells you how to feel. There are fewer propulsion plot devices, as we have to get to the thing and find them. And just when you miss this, so all of a sudden, we do that. As the show does.
They simply do so in another type of energy and diagram and rhythm. And so, I think we wanted to understand what the show was, because it would be weird so suddenly Abby introduces himself. By the way, I like Pauley Perrette, just from the moment I met her. Pauley Perrette is a fantastic human. But we really had to create the world. And then later, anyone who entered it, we had to make him appropriate for what he feels. And to give someone an idea, he should look at him and go: “Oh, I understand”.“”
His thoughts are presented enough the flow of consciousness, but the basic summary of his main point is that NCIS: Tony & Ziva is too different from the flagship to postpone characters without a little adjustment. If even the previous characterization of Tony is too exaggerated for the spin-off, any other crossing player should adapt their performance as he did.
It would be fun to see Mark Harmon Nis Return or a new three adventure with MCTIVA. For the moment, however, NCIS: Tony & Ziva Has only one job, and it is to succeed well enough that fans can see these stories go in the future when they can occur more naturally. Until then, the own characters in the spin-off must have priority.
