With so much happening in pop culture and politics, Saturday evening live fans are turning to the NBC sketch show to see how it pokes fun at the latest events.
The late-night show took a break for the Thanksgiving holiday, but it’s set to return in December for a trio of shows that will close out the year in incredibly spectacular fashion.
SNL Season 51 guest hosts so far have included Bad Bunny, Amy Poehler, Sabrina Carpenter, Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell. Powell hosted the last new episode on November 15.

After the Thanksgiving holiday, SNL returns to NBC on Saturday, December 6 at 11:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. PT.

December 6: Melissa McCarthy will be the guest host with Dijon defined as musical guest.
December 13: Josh O’Conner will be the guest host with Lily Allen defined as musical guest.
December 20: Ariana Grande will be the guest host with Dear defined as musical guest.

Grande’s appearance on SNL this December will mark her fifth time hosting the late-night sketch show. She will appear on the NBC comedy show after the release of Villain: for good and one year after hosting in October 2024. The Wicked The star will perform alongside Cher, who is the musical guest that night. In early 2025, Cher performs at the SNL 50th Anniversary Reunion special. She first appeared on the series in a 1987 episode hosted by Candice Bergen.
The Christmas episode of SNL and the last one of the year will likely also feature the joke swap between Weekend Update anchors Colin Jost and Michael Che, where the duo write jokes for each other.
