YouTube Bookmarks 3 million dollars from the WildFire rescue fund to support local creators
After being previously committed to a donation of $ 15 million to helping forest fire efforts in Los Angeles, YouTube allocates $ 3 million in this fund to support the creation professionals based in Los Angeles who were affected by fires.
More specifically, these funds will go to the creators of Youtube who have destroyed or damaged their homes during the devastating natural disaster which killed at least 30 people, destroys more than 18,000 houses and structures and burned more than 57,000 acres. The fund will also extend to the larger creative community, providing financial support to professionals in the entertainment and entertainment arts that have been affected by fires. This support will come, whether or not the professionals in question create on YouTube.
“The January fires were devastating and the recovery path is long for so much. “Many in our YouTube family have been directly affected, losing not only their homes, but their studios, their equipment and dedicated spaces where they give life to their ideas. This is why we feel a deep responsibility to continue our support. ”
These funds will be distributed by a partnership between Youtube and the Community Entertainment Fund. A national organization that helps professionals work in theater, cinema, television, radio, music and dance, the community entertainment fund helps those of the creative community, whether they work on stage, on camera or behind the scenes.
When forest fires took place at the start of the year, YouTube was one of the companies that made the disaster the most. YouTube and Disney donated $ 15 million. In addition, Amazon, Netflix and Nbcuniversal Parent Comcast donated $ 10 million each, and Paramount Global donated $ 1 million.
