I was at home working upstairs when a thud in the courtyard surprised me. I guessed that it was a package with enthusiasm, but I could not have imagined the entire scope of the incident that created the noise.
After having made my way down to investigate, I found that the double chain liaison door on the side of my house had been launched by an Amazon driver apparently unable to understand the simple butterfly lock. The entry by brute force broke out the wooden frame of the door, requiring a repair which requires carpentry skills that I do not have.

Two elements of overwhelming evidence – my Amazon packages – were abandoned a few meters inside the door. To worsen things, the driver left the two doors open, leaving my courtyard sensitive to a canine escape.
I reported the damage and submitted a complaint with Amazon
Incredibly, the delivery driver did not even bother to close the door they had broken down.
Naturally, I reported the incident via the retailer’s online incident portal and contacted Amazon customer service by phone. A polished woman asked me to submit a complaint. I did it in a day, including the estimation of the repair costs of $ 500 that I had obtained from a local handyman man, the delivery time for delivery of the Amazon package and several photos of the burst, also moments wiped out after delivery of the packages.
The complaints said that it would make a decision “in a few days”.

A week and a follow-up e-mail later, Amazon replied and informed me that without visual evidence of the incident, they would not reimburse me the damage.
Without video evidence of the Amazon driver who broke my door to deliver a package, I was alone for the broken frame to be repaired.
After a healthy altitude of cursing this decision from the company of 2.37 billions of dollars, I decided on the equipment of each entry point of my court and my house with a security camera with video storage so that I can draw images if something like it happened again – although my canceled account guarantees that it is not in the hands of Amazon.
