In a surprising update, the national champions Hezly Rivera and Claire Pease had to withdraw from the selection camp for the next world championships. The current edition of the Fig World Championships will be held in Jakarta from October.

User X with the Handle @Thegymterdotnet published the Instagram stories of the aforementioned gymnasts, which had been injured in the ankles during their training in Texas. The two are part of the World Olympic Gymnastics Academy, which is located in Frisco, Texas.

Fans expressed their shock against this unexpected news. A user simply asked if he belonged to Woga as she wrote,

“Are they both Liukin / Woga gymnasts?”

Another user wondered what went wrong by adding,

“It must be code for something, right? As if there was a real reason why they do not mean. I hate being conspirator, but the chances that they both roll at the same time …”

A user could not help wondering if Valeri Liukin, one of the team’s coaches, had something to do with injuries. The user wrote,

Hezly Rivera and Claire Pease qualified for the world selection camp because of their performances at the US national championships which held in August 2025. Rivera had won her first general senior competition at the American championships.

Hezly Rivera previously talked about her experience at the national American gymnastics championships that held in August 2025. In his conversation with the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games of the NBC, the gymnast of adolescents spoke of her victory in the female event, as she pointed out,

“It means the world for me to bring this national championship title home because I worked so hard for that. It was not easy to come back after the Olympic games, I took a little leave, so much work in the gymnasium, hard work, sweat, blood and tears. In another interview with ESPN, Rivera has awarded her hard work behind unprecedented success, as she said,

“No matter how difficult the competition is, I can always go back to the gymnasium and work hard because all these months before I worked hard, I know that it will finally appear. So that simply gained a weight of my shoulders.”

Hezly Rivera had arrived at the American female gymnastics team for the Paris Olympic Games last year. The 17 -year -old American gymnast contributed to the Olympic gold medal won by the American team during the female event.
