Sweden Maja Stark has become the US Women’s Open champion, capturing the Harton S. Semple trophy and becoming the first European winner of the event since Annika Sörenstam won the title in 2006. His performance obtained compliments from several LPGA pros.
Linn Grant was one of the golfers who praised Stark after his triumph opened in the United States. Stark delivered a last -round compound performance, displaying a 72 peer 72 to maintain its position at the top of the classification after entering the day at 7 sous.
He only marked the second time in her career on LPGA tour which she held or shared her head after 54 holes, and the first since the Buick LPGA Shanghai in 2023.
Linn Grant shared two photos of US Women’s Open on his Instagram account. The first was to give Champagne to Maja Stark. Dedicating part of the legend to her, she wrote:
“Maja Stark what a day !! I am so happy for you and happy to have to be there to spread you in Champagne 🫶🏼 You are a major champion !!!!”
The second photo was a photo of Grant trying to make a putt, with her shopping cart behind her. In legend, she wrote:
“For my own game, a very solid week. I played a big golf course, surprisingly a lot of birdies but had some drawbacks on the path of the finish line, as you do in the majors 🙃 Always fun to be challenged by the @usga and satisfied with my best finish at @uswomensopen 😌”
Linn Grant carded towers of 71, 69, 73 and 73 and was satisfied with a T9 with Angel Yin and Ariya Jutanugarn.
