What is the problem with New York Yankees? And how hot the manager of manager Aaron Boone?

The Yankees had to clean the dark Sunday.

This is because the lights of the Miami Loandepot Park Strobosed a Blue of celebration in the moments after the 7-3 victory final of the Marlins, inductive on the Visit Yanks. This stinking in the south of Florida included an absurd victory 13-12 Miami on Friday in one of the most disturbed games of the season. The weekend was, in total, a downright embarrassing performance for a team with aspirations of the World Series and a payroll of $ 295 million. And so, in the middle of the disorienting flashing of a Loandepot light show, the Yankees were packed and rushed.

“This is a real verification time. It is done late,” Boone told the assembled media members after the defeat.

Upon entering Monday, the Yankees were 18-27 since June 13, the fifth record of MLB. The only clubs with percentages of lower victories above this period were the non-contenants: Washington, Minnesota, San Francisco and Colorado. This prolonged Schneid dropped New York from the first to the third of Al East, behind Toronto and, after the southern Florida south, behind Boston. The Yankees went to Texas on Sunday evening at 60-52. They are still in possession of the second Wild Card, but they assume only 1.5 games above the Rangers, who won the first in their three-game series on Monday.

To simplify things, four critical trends have defined the summer of New York to tumble the ranking:

1. The Yankees offensive went from a elite to simply very good.

Part of this is lucky and sequencing. Before June 13, New York had the highest ninth in the highest stick with runners in a score position. Since then, they are heading for Monday, they have ranked 28th in this metric. Aaron Judge played like a top-25-25 striker above this period, instead of the best undisputed player on Earth, and has been on the injured list since July 26. He will return to alignment on Tuesday. The recipient and the third goal (before the acquisition of the deadline for Ryan McMahon) were full offensive areas. However, the Yankees are definitively raating. Programming is not to be blamed for the recent collapse.

2. The starting rotation of the Yankees has gone from very good to the average.

The Yankees lost Gerrit Cole against Tommy John in March, lost Clarke Schmidt against Tommy John in July and did not reign the recruit of the year Luis Gil before this week. The fact that the club has an era of rotation of the top 10 despite this tidal wave raz is quite an accomplishment. Unfortunately, however, things have been directed in the wrong direction lately. The two best starters of the team, Max Fried and Carlos Rodón, both sensational in April, have eras in four during their last eight departures. Behind them, a pair of Will Warren and Cam Schlittler recruits showed impressive flashes but also have more than four eras.

3. The Yankees enclosure has gone from the wrong to the wrong.

Upon entering Monday, Luke Weaver, who did not give up a deserved race during his first 13 outings, missed a certain time and had an MPM of 6.19 since its release from the Plateau on June 20. Devin Williams rebounded by a horrible April but is still below its standards. Fernando Cruz’s crucial configuration struck it in late June. This left unity without danger, requiring a decay that brought a trio of reinforcements: David Bednar, Jake Bird and Camilo Doval. These three have not gone well, but let’s see how they adjust.

4. The Yankees continue to make an inexplicable flow of mistakes on defense and basic paths.

He obtains the most advertising, leads to the most exasperating and creates the most agita protruding facts, but it is probably the least significant. A handful of breathtaking blunders in last week – Jazz Chisholm Jr. finding himself first to double without reason, Austin Wells forgetting how many withdrawals there were, all the routine vests started by Anthony Volpe – made Yankees fans exasperate. Yes, the team looks discomble and not botrée, but the truth is that the disappointing performance of starting launchers and Judge Aaron being on they are probably much more important agreements.

Where are Yankees here?

For the better and for the worst, it should be remembered that the middle of the mid -summer are nothing new for the Yanks. Last year, the Boone club went through a period of 10-23 in June and July on the way to a division title and an appearance of the World Series. The Yankees 2022 wandered in August as part of a ugly of 15-26. This team won the Al East by seven games and reached Alcs.

It is a revealing reminder that several things on the Yankees of the Boone era are true. On the one hand, its teams displayed an unmistakable fracture, a certain fragility on the field and on the bases. Famous, this dynamic sank the Yankees in October during the fifth round of hell. New York is not alone in this regard – the league is full of smoking from Chile and space cadets – but it is impossible to describe these Yankees as “crisp”.

At the same time, only two franchises (Houston and Los Angeles) won more regular season games than New York since Boone took over in 2018. During this period, the Yankees won three division titles and reached the qualifying series via Wild Card three times. If that’s what the disorganized organization looks like, register me.

All this to say: the calls for the dismissal of Boone are wrong and, more important, unrealistic. It is not going anywhere. The Yankees, under the GM Brian Cashman, rarely bring changes of coach to the regular season; Since 1995, they have drawn only one member of mid-season of the staff. But if the worst case occurs and the Yankees are missing the playoffs, Boone’s work should and will be questioned during the offseason.

Until then, however, its history should speak of itself. Boone was congratulated by his bosses and players for his ability to connect with the clubhouse. It is easily the most important aspect of any use of management of large leagues. In the French and ruthless environment of Big Apple Media, it’s even more true. Boone’s predecessor Joe Girardi was released because Cashman thought he was missing “connectivity and communication”. As long as these capacities remain intact for Boone – and all the indications are that they do – a change seems unlikely.

There is also a big season for a reversal of the Yankees. As Boone himself would say, “it’s right in front of them.”
