What is Megan Thee Stallion’s Pete & Thomas Foundation?

Megan Thee Stallion was released on the red carpet on July 16 for his first gala of the Pete & Thomas Foundation at the New York Gotham Hall with his new NBA Beau, Klay Thompson. Their booming romance has contributed to bringing more spotlights to the objective of the evening to share the philanthropic work of the foundation with the world.

How did the Foundation get its name?

Megan created the Foundation three years ago as a way to honor the memories of his late parents, Joseph Pete III and Holly Thomas. Thomas was also a rapper. She deeply inspired Megan and helped shepherd her career until a brain tumor stated her life in 2019.

The gala was held to support the programming efforts of the Foundation. Taraji P. Henson was the master of ceremonies for the evening. The award -winning actress is dedicated to promoting access to health care and has openly talked about the need for mental health resources within the black community. Megan previously defended the exact cause.

The mission of the Pete & Thomas Foundation

The mission of the Pete & Thomas Foundation “provides resources to make a significant and positive change in the lives of women and children, the elderly and poorly served communities in Houston, TX and around the world,” according to its website.

To achieve their objectives, the Foundation works in collaboration with others. Between 2022 and 2024, the Foundation joined forces with more than 125 community organizations to support more than 23,000 people, which has a significant impact in their lives. Megan speaks openly about the organization’s mission.

What are their main areas of interest?

Megan launched a directory of digital mental health resources in 2022. The site was named after an impertinent but moving word of “Anxiety”, a powerful piece of his album Traumazine. The song was published after Megan underwent the trauma of physical violence in someone in his circle, which has a disproportionate impact to black women.

The Pete & Thomas Foundation offers communities and subsidies. Its programming is divided into three distinct fields: education, housing, health and well-being. These form the basic pillars of the foundation. It is particularly active in the original state of Megan’s Texas.

Megan is particularly passionate about this area.

Education, in particular, is an absolute priority for the rapper who stayed at school when she went up at the top of the rapping charts. She obtained a baccalaureate in the science administration of Texas Southern University in 2021. Megan previously expressed the desire to open an assisted center of life in her hometown of Houston, Texas. She discussed the importance of care for the elderly in the interviews.

The Pete & Thomas Foundation has granted scholarships to Texas Southern University students pursuing diplomas in the fields of public health. Black leaders visible in public health help to create a plan for greater representation in the field. Black women, in particular, face extraordinary obstacles to the construction of careers in public health. While the ways towards professional advancement disappear, helping non -profit organizations is even more urgent.

Texas Southern University is a HBCU which has received the support of Beyoncé, a collaborator of the “Savage Remix” of Megan, via its Beygood Foundation.

They also supported athlete students from the Audrey H. Lawson intermediary school thanks to targeted subsidies.

Megan thinks we can all do something to help others

Megan shared advice to support communities on the carpet in an interview with Billboard. “You should know what your community needs,” she said. “If you are in a poorly served community, determine what your community needs you that you can do directly.”

She encouraged others to think from the point of view of the base.

“You may be able to assemble certain things in a local school,” she suggested. “Your community must be served, but you need to understand how to serve it.”

The Grant Grant program of the Foundation helps people recognize each other for the positive contributions they bring to their community through acts of service.
