What happened to Lee Dutton on Yellowstone? His destiny explained

Taylor Sheridan’s “Yellowstone” has its fair share of shocking deaths, some of which become members of the apparently invincible Dutton family. For the proof, look no further than the first of season 1, “Daybreak”, who sees Lee Dutton (Dave Annable) – the eldest son of the family and the most loyal – being killed during a cattle that went wrong. So what exactly happened?

“Daybreak” sees the cattle of the Dutton family walking in the broken skull reserve, which is led by their rival then Thomas Rainwater (Gil Birmingham). Given that this cowboys clan is not the type of people to let their enemies keep their cattle, John Dutton (Kevin Costner), his sons and their cattle agents take over the neighboring territory to recover their cows, but the residents of the broken skull reserve expect them and the hell that stands out. The bullets are starting to fly and Lee is the unhappy soul that gets caught in the cross fire.

Lee’s death is by no means the craziest moment on “Yellowstone”, but he shows from the start that Sheridan’s Western is a drama with issues. In addition, the situation causes a giant mess that almost translates into one of the brothers of Lee losing his marriage.

The death of Lee Dutton transforms Yellowstone into soap opera

We have already established that the Dustes do not let their rivals keep their cattle, so you can imagine how they answered Lee being shot. Shortly after the eldest son of the family was struck by the ball, his brother, Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes), draws his killer in self -defense, tells him that there is nothing like the sky and sends him into the void. The shooting of a member of the broken skull booking tribe would cause a drama in the best of cases, but this situation is more disorderly, because the victim is the brother of the wife of Kayce, Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille).

Although Kayce did not kill her brother-in-law outright in cold blood, members of the Dutton family always put themselves into practice to cover it. This includes sending Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) to assassinate an innocent medical examiner whose results of the autopsy could shed new light on death, which is one of the first moments of “Yellowstone” which proves that the Dated will look into all the lengths to cover their crimes – and they are supposed to be the most heroic characters in the series.

In the end, Kayce tells Monica the truth and she finally forgives him. Not only that, but Thomas Rainwater chooses not to act on revenge, even if he knows that Kayce did, and Dutton continues to live as a free man. Lee, on the other hand, is largely forgotten after his death, because his relatives do not cry his death for too long. However, the death and the drama that result from it helped to transform “Yellowstone” into a ridiculous and downright ridiculous cowboy soap.

“Yellowstone” is currently available in execution on Peacock.
