What happened to ex-Utah QB which led to retirement at 25

Cam Rising announced his retirement from football. The ancient quarter of Utah is moving away from the game after having treated several long-term injuries in the last two seasons. He made known his decision with a statement on his social media pages on Wednesday.
“Due to a hand injury that I suffered during the Baylor match, I was informed by two orthopedic doctors that I can never return to football,” Rising wrote.
“I will get a third medical opinion and undergo the recommended surgery. I will continue to rehabilitate and do everything I can to be healthy. In the meantime, I will unfortunately be forced to retire medically from the game that I like. ”

Rising’s latest injury occurred in the match against Arizona State in October 2024. When Utah opened by car from the match, the defensive line Jeff Clark gave him a hit as he took out the ball, seeming to go to Rising’s right ankle. It marked his last match for Utah.
Cam rising is now ready to embark on a coach career, starting at secondary level. He returned to his Alma Mater, Newbury Park (California), as an offensive coordinator and quarter-arre coach. His addition to the staff excites the school coach Joe Smigiel.
“The knowledge and the experience it brings is unrivaled,” said Smigiel, according to Sports Illustrated. “Not all the big players are excellent coaches, but Cam knows his business and has the ability to communicate him to players. He has already taught Brady so much in a little time. We are very lucky to make him join our already formidable staff.”
University football career marked by Cam Rising
Cam rising career has been disrupted several times by injuries. He restarted in Texas in 2018 before the transfer of UTAH, where he again restarted in 2019. In 2020, he won the starting role and took the ground against the USC, to undergo an end -of -season shoulder injury in the meeting.
The quarter-Arrière received the starting role two games in the 2021 season and appeared in 13 games that year, leading the UTES to the PAC-12 title. He returned in 2022 to lead the UTES to another PAC-12 championship but suffered an injury in the Bowl pink against the USC.
The injury against Trojan horses prevented him all the university football season in 2023. However, he returned in 2024 after taking a red medical shirt. Rising appeared in three games for Utah last season before undergoing another injury that ended its season.
There were talks on Rising Returning for another season in 2025 after taking a medical red shirt during the 2024 season. It would be his eighth season in university football. However, his last decision excluded the possibility.
