WGAE journalists at New York 1010 earn an Auty petition for a fair contract

EXCLUSIVE: Journalists at New York Wins 1010 radio station presented a petition in Audacy on Thursday in the middle of a new series of contractual conferences.

The petition, signed by more than 90% of the negotiation unit of the America East writers guild, requests the management of the negotiated stations of a fair agreement before the expiration of the current contract on July 22 – in particular one which responds to increasing concerns concerning the safety of workers.

“We, the undersigned journalists of 1010 victories, are proudly with our colleagues in the negotiation committee as they renegotiate our union contract,” said the petition. “We support all their requests, and we ask Auty to negotiate respectfully and in good faith while we work to improve our wages, our advantages, our journeys towards promotion, safety at work, our remote work options, we will preserve the connection and protection against the growing threat of artificial intelligence.

One of the main priorities that the station’s journalists seek to approach in the new contract is workers’ safety, especially for those working during the night, because 1010 victories offers 24/7 coverage. The deadline includes that many of the station’s journalists have been attacked and who will work recently.

This marks the first contractual negotiations of the WGA East with Audacie since the company closed the WCBS New York New York 880 in August 2024 after a race of almost 60 years and dismissed 23 members of the Guild.

1010 victories is currently the longest news station in the country and has now operated for over 60 years in itself. This is radio station n ° 2 in New York.

“1010 wins 24/7 and forces people to go to the office every hour. Station journalists were threatened and even attacked. Audacie must assume responsibility for the security of its employees and our members. This is one of the many problems that management must still address in a fair and fair contract, “said WGAE president Lisa Takeuchi Cullen.
