West Pacific Cyclones Jockey to become the first Super Typhon of the season

Two typhoons quickly strengthened in the Western Pacific during the weekend, with at least the first super typhoon of the season.
The Typhon Ragasa continued to intensify during the weekend in the Western Pacific, which raises fears that certain communities of Southeast Asia can face a super typhoon in next week.
The cyclone, known in the Philippines under the name of “Nando”, reached Typhon status on Saturday and was to reach the equivalent of a category 4 hurricane at the start of the work week.
The satellite imagery showed that a distinct eye had formed before the cyclone moves in the Strait of Luzon, between the Philippines and Taiwan.

The worst weather was to stay south of Taiwan but cut the Northern Philippines while the system should move west in the Southern China Sea.
Satellite observations estimated that water temperatures are between 82 and 88 degrees Fahrenheit before cyclone, which is considered to be sufficient to allow significant intensification.
Although the definition of a super typhoon varies according to weather organizations, most use the reference of sustained wind speeds of at least 150 MPH, which is equivalent to a strong category 4 on the wind scale of the Hurricane Saffir-Simpson.
At the end of the upcoming work week, Typhon’s Warning Center expects the last land of the system to occur somewhere west of Hong Kong, and because of its slow before, it can produce several feet of precipitation on countries like Vietnam and Laos.

In addition to ragasa, Neoguri should also become a powerful typhoon, but because of its more northern latitude in the Western Pacific, there will mainly remain a concern for marine interests.
Neoguri should become more annular, which means that its central eye and dense cover will look like a tire or a shape donut.
An annular appearance generally means that a cyclone is resistant to environmental factors, such as dry air and hostile winds of higher level, which can help prolong the life of the system.
What is a hurricane annular style?
Ragasa and Neoguri are the 18th and 19th storms appointed to train in the basin during what was a slow and delayed start to the season.
While the season takes place technically all year round, the first system named was only formed on June 11, marking the fifth highest the most starting ever recorded.
According to IT models, additional tropical disturbances should develop in the coming weeks, but fortunately, none appears as impacting as Ragasa.

Brandon and Landon Aydlett, Northern Caroline twin brothers, have spent the last years in Guam where the two are courier pillars on social networks and a critical rescue buoy on American territory when the tropics become active, as with Typhoon Bolaven.
