Welltheory secures $ 5 million, introduces new AI tools to support autoimmune care

Welltheory, a digital health company on autoimmune diseases, has raised $ 5 million in funding and launched two new AI tools, the company announced on Thursday.
Welltheory based in Atherton, California, treats autoimmune conditions such as Addison’s disease, celiac disease, multiple sclerosis and lupus. Using a collaborative care model, he associates with patient doctors to provide personalized nutrition, stress, sleep and movement. The company offers video sessions, unlimited expert messages and diagnoses. It serves both employers and health plans.
The increase of $ 5 million included the support of new Samsung Next, Opal Ventures and UP2 Fund investors, as well as existing investors Accel, Ovo Fund and Boxgroup. In total, the company raised $ 12 million.
Funding will help the company develop on the markets of employers and health regimes, as well as “accelerate the development of its Care Infrastructure supplied by AI for providers and members,” said the announcement.
Welltheory also announced the deployment of two AI tools: Scribe Care and Care Hub. Care Scribe transcribes members’ sessions, writes monitoring notes and creates care plans that are examined and can be personalized by providers. Care Hub, meanwhile, brings together members’ data, sessions history and laboratory information and puts it in the same place.
“The provision of care for patients with autoimmune diseases is incredibly complex-our team has built these tools to help put our care team to what matters most: supporting our members,” said Claire Rudolph, co-founder and product manager at Welltheory, in a press release. “With the Weltheory care and care scribe, we build modern autoimmune care that has always needed – intelligent and integrated systems that rationalize repetitive tasks, amplify what makes human care and is equivalent to our team to provide more personalized and reactive support on a large scale.”
AI funding and announcements are involved after Welltheory shared a results report last month on its model. He found that the company’s model resulted in 81% of members reporting improved digestive symptoms, 55% of fatigue improvements and 45% reporting pain improvements.
The inspiration for Welltheory was born from the CEO and co-founder Ellen Rudolph the experience of finding care for her autoimmune state. She has experienced a list of inexplicable symptoms, including cerebral fog, gastrointestinal problems and fatigue, and was bedridden at 25. She was dismissed by a variety of doctors, until she finally finds answers via certain laboratory results. She finally continued to build Welltheory to help others with similar challenges.
During a recent interview with the Business on Health conference, Rudolph shared that the company’s upcoming priorities include the creation of partnerships with employers and health plans, investing in AI and reducing administrative tasks for suppliers. In addition, the company hopes to create new health programs, similar to the women’s health program for the hormonal conditions it launched in December.
“We see many of these comorbidities or sets of overlapping conditions, for lack of a better word. So, certainly more to come there, “she said.
