It would appear that Bryant has usurped Marvin Mims for the WR3 role in this offense (Mims: back-to-back games without a reception), and there’s a lot to like about the rookie’s profile as a part of this Sean Payton system.
Also…I’m not sure WR3’s role in this offense is important.
Both things can be true. I like Bryant’s long-term trajectory. Heck, I could love it. In Week 10, a season-high 67.9% of his routes were completed in the slot, and he surpassed that in Week 11 (74.3%). It’s carving out a nice niche for itself, but I think it’s too little, too late for a reformulation.
Only three times this season has a Denver WR erased 12 PPR points. Bo Nix isn’t the most consistent QB in the world, and with Troy Franklin/Courtland Sutton the two clear best options, banking on Bryant even on the rise consistently is more optimistic than I’d like.
