“We were almost going to sign the contract” – AEW star makes shocking WWE revelation

Recently, a big AEW star made a major revelation about his past with WWE. He revealed that he was close to signing a contract with the Stamford-based promotion a few years ago alongside his brother before joining AEW.
Former AEW World Tag Team Champion Matt Jackson has revealed that The Young Bucks were close to signing with WWE in 2019. There have been numerous rumors in professional wrestling over the past decade suggesting that Matt and Nick Jackson were in talks to sign with the sports entertainment juggernaut. However, in 2019, the team signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling and has been a part of the promotion ever since.
Speaking on Adam’s apple, The Young Bucks discussed their previous discussions with WWE. Matt Jackson said they were in contract negotiations with WWE, but things didn’t work out. The duo then added that they have had such discussions with the Stamford-based promotion several times during their careers. Matt also said that in 2019 they were doing really good work in Japan, which sparked WWE’s interest in signing the duo.
“Pretty close. Yeah, we were almost going to sign the contract. I mean, there was never an actual physical contract, but we were negotiating. We had a groundswell at the time, with things we were doing in Japan and the Indies,” Matt said [H/T: Ringside News]

The Young Bucks will have a big match at AEW Full Gear
This weekend, All Elite Wrestling will present its Full Gear event from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The show will feature blockbuster showdowns, including an epic tag team match between The Young Bucks and their former allies.
Matt and Nick Jackson will team up with Josh Alexander to take on former Elite member Kenny Omega and The Jurassic Express. There has been constant buzz among fans for this showdown at Full Gear this Saturday.
This week on Dyanmite, the Bucks attempted to take down Omega with an assault before their match. However, The Jurassic Express came to the former AEW World Champion’s rescue, avoiding a major mishap. That said, it will be interesting to see how things go when these teams face off in the ring.
