Afghanistan displayed first-class cricket and defeated Bangladesh comprehensively in the third and final ODI at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, completing a 3-0 clean sweep. Rashid Khan’s magical googly gets rid of Towhid Hridoy
It was a moment of pure genius from Afghanistan’s premier spinner. In his very first throw of the spell, Rashid produced a classic rejection that left Hridoy and the viewers stunned. The leg-spinner bowled a sharp google that completely beat Hridoy in terms of pace and movement. The Bangladesh striker, attempting to play off the back foot, arrived far too late when the ball skidded and crashed into the off stump.
The crowd at Sheikh Zayed Stadium erupted as Afghan players celebrated Rashid’s dismissal. It was yet another reminder of why Rashid is widely regarded as one of the deadliest players in modern cricket. THE Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) shared the clip on social media and the video quickly went viral among fans.

Afghanistan dominates from start to finish
Earlier in the match, the Afghan batters laid the foundation for their crushing victory. Opener Zadran continued his superb form, scoring an elegant 95 from 111 deliveries, while Mohamed Nabi added late fireworks with a blistering 62 from 37 balls, propelling the team to a formidable 293/9 in 50 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz also chipped in with 42, ensuring Afghanistan’s top order remained strong.
In response, Bangladesh never found its footing in the face of a relentless Afghan attack. Bilal was the main destroyer, taking a five-wicket haul (5/33) that dismantled the visitors’ batting line-up. Rashid complemented it perfectly, finishing with 3 wickets for just 12 runs in six overs, including the unforgettable googly bowled to Hridoy. Bangladesh eventually fell back for just 93 runs in 27.1 overs, suffering a heavy 200-run defeat.
The victory marked Afghanistan’s most dominant victory in the ODI series in recent memory. They had earlier triumphed by 5 wickets in the opening match and 81 runs in the second before producing this emphatic performance in the third ODI.
