The League Committee has not lost time to take disciplinary measures. Digvesh Rathi was sentenced to a fine of 80% of its correspondence costs under article 2.2 of the DPL code of conduct, level 2 behavior covering the behavior “Unlike the spirit of the game.” Nitish Rana, too, was punished – lose 50% of his match fees under article 2.6 for having done “Obscene or offensive gestures.”

Several other players have also been condemned to a fine for abusive language and provocative gestures during chaotic game, stressing the difficult position of DPL on the maintenance of professionalism and respect on the field.

The century of Rana has overshadowed by the controversy
Ironically, the night was supposed to belong to Nitish Rana, who played one of the greatest strokes in the history of the DPL. His 134 undefeated bullets of 55 balls, filled with 15 six and 8 to four, sealed a remarkable victory for the Western Delhi Lions and earned him the match player. However, its shine with the bat was overshadowed by the ugly confrontation with Rathi.
