Watch: Jonathan Groff finally reveals what keeps his mouth if … wet

All good Broadway fan knows it – if you sit near a show with Jonathan Groff, you are in the splash area. Tony’s winning actor is famous, or perhaps sadly famous, for having very, dirons, wet diction. And during a recent visit to The Kelly Clarkson Show To talk about the star in the Broadway Bobby Darin musical Just in timeHe shared the secret of what keeps his mouth so lubricated. The musical sees Groff with Darin and sing some of his greatest successes, including “Beyond the Sea”, “Mack the Knife” and, ironically, “Spish Splash”. Directed by Tony Alex Timbers winner, the immersive staging transforms the Broadway circle to the theater square into an intimate nightclub. The show opened its doors on April 26 after starting the previews on March 31 and is nominated for six Tony Awards 2025, including a head sign for Groff for the best leading actor in a musical.

The work, developed by Timbers and based on an original concept by Ted Chapin, presents a book by the winner of Tony Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver (The wonderful Mme Maisel). Shannon Lewis choreographed with musical supervision and Andrew Resnick’s arrangements.

The production also presents the picturesque design by the double winner of Tony Derek McLane (Death becomes her), design of costumes by eight times the winner of Tony Catherine Zuber (Moulin Rouge!), Lighting design of the winner of Tony Justin Townsend (Here is love), and the sound design of the winner of Tony Peter Hylenski (Maybe a happy ending).

Scott Rowen is the director of the production scene and Live Wire Theatrical is the managing director. Tom Kirdahy, Robert Ahrens, John Frost and Groff produce.

Groff won a Tony Award last year for his performance in Tony’s revival Shuntfully, we driveand also appeared on Broadway in Spring Awakening And Hamilton.
