Watch: director James Gunn visits the Paris video club for Konbini

“People have to go to the movies … The films have become very little as possible. And the truth is that to bring people to go to the movies, you have to take risks.” Indeed – I fully agree with him on this point. One of the last filmmakers to visit the famous video store of the “Video Club” in Paris is the director James Gunnwhile promoting the release of Superman. They recently had Francis Ford Coppola and Luca Guadagnino (with Nicolas Winding Refn and Gareth Edwards), but now it’s Gunn’s Tour to Geek on films in the Paris video store. Gunn travels the store and chooses some of his favorite films, in particular: Rush,, Wolf fraternity,, The wicked (which has directly inspired many action sequences in his films), Herzog’s RescueYou west Pearl,, Jaws (of course everyone likes it), Eternal sun of the spotless spiritPixar IndestructiblesAnd the big filmmakers including Preston Sturges and Sergio Leone. This video is also good because it is a kind of interview to discuss Superman & Hollywood and script.

This is part of their series “Video Club” (this one with a very stoned Brad Pitt is fun). Their intro (direct French translation) says: “James Gunn, director of Superman,, Galaxy goalkeepersAnd The suicide teamAnd DC Studios, speaks to the video club of his favorite films. “This last visit to the Konbini Video Club is promoting Gunn’s Superman FILM – Now playing in theaters around the world (see the IMAX promo).
