Washington Commanders @ Dallas Cowboys: Preview, Predictions and Odds

Washington Commanders Preview @ Dallas Cowboys

Week 7 features one of the NFL’s most storied rivalries as the Washington Commanders (3-3) visit the Dallas Cowboys (2-3-1) at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.

Both teams are eager to bounce back from close losses and reignite their play-off ambitions in a hotly contested NFC East.

For Washington, this game comes with added pressure. A 25-24 heartbreak to the Chicago Bears last week left the Commanders frustrated after giving up a late lead on a field goal.

Dallas suffered a similar blow in Week 6, losing 30-27 to the Carolina Panthers on a last-second kick. Despite a strong outing from Dak Prescott and a productive day on offense, defensive mistakes proved costly – a recurring theme for a Cowboys unit giving up more than 30 points per game.

With both teams at a crossroads, Sunday’s showdown feels like a statement game. Washington wants to prove it can compete with the NFC’s elite under pressure, while Dallas is determined to turn its potential into results before the season ends.

The Cowboys are still dealing with injuries at several key positions. Star CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is trending back, while KaVontae Turpin (foot), Ajani Cornelius (knee) and Jack Sanborn (concussion protocol) remain questionable. Defensive end Marshawn Kneeland is nursing an ankle issue and Jonathan Mingo remains on injured reserve.

The Commanders’ offense has been quietly effective, averaging 26.3 points per game, but the injuries are starting to pile up. Terry McLaurin (hamstring) has now missed three consecutive games and there is no guarantee he will return this weekend. Defensive lineman Eddie Goldman (illness) and passer Dorance Armstrong (hamstring) are questionable, while wideout Noah Brown (groin) is also a doubt.
