Visit to the DOOMSDAY set; Talks HAWKEYE Season 2 Plans

Rumors about Marvel Studios’ plans for Hawk Eye Season 2 has been swirling for a while. Jeremy Renner has confirmed reports that upcoming episodes would be inspired by The Raidand we heard that Clint Barton and Kate Bishop would face Barney Barton/ Trickshot.

Well, if a second season ever comes along, of course.

Much to fans’ surprise, Renner revealed that he turned down season 2 after Marvel Studios. offered him half of what he earned for season 1 (for what would be a long 9 month shoot). Marvel Studios is also expected putting less emphasis on big screen characters in streaming, creating a clearer line between what people can see in theaters and at home.

Does this mean Renner’s time in the MCU is over? He is not one of those confirmed for Avengers: Apocalypsealthough Hailee Steinfeld is expected to reprise her role by reuniting alongside the Young Avengers.

While speaking to Cinema Blend, the actor hinted that he had at least visited the Avengers: Apocalypse together. Whether he’s there to pull anything is another matter!

“Yeah, well, [they] are very, very dear friends. I actually had the opportunity to catch up with them on the book tour while they were filming in London.” Renner confirmed. “I got to break bread with all the boys on this show. It was good to see everyone and we have an everlasting bond. Whether we’re filming or not, we’re always connected.”

In a separate conversation with Screen Rant, the Mayor of Kingstown the star reiterated that he remains open to starring in Hawk Eye Season 2. He also seemed to confirm that it would have a Christmas setting again.

“For a second season, it was always the idea to continue that narrative, even within the framework of Christmas too, because they love that world in New York. There’s really no more beautiful place than New York until Christmas. After Christmas, it’s pretty dark.” However, he emphasized that “It’s really not my decision to make.”

We could therefore take a further step towards Hawk Eye season 2 becomes reality…if both parties can find common ground with money and time. Hawk Eye season 1 served as a handoff to Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate, so she could probably get by without him having a starring role.

It will be strange to watch Avengers: Apocalypse without Hawkeye being there. However, it wouldn’t be the first time he was sidelined, since Clint was absent from Avengers: Infinity War before playing a leading role in Avengers: Endgame.

Avengers: Apocalypse is scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026, with Avengers: Secret Wars expected to arrive on December 17, 2027.
