New Delhi: In the history of Indian sports, only one sportsman was honored with the Bharat Ratna – and it is Sachin Tendulkar. The legendary striker was recommended for the price by the central government in February 2014, then President Pranab Mukherjee gave him the honor. No athlete before or since has received this prestigious civil prize.However, the former India cricket player Suresh Raina now asked that Virat Kohli be conferred on the Bharat Ratna, recognizing his immense contributions to the Indian cricket.“Virat Kohli does not jitni upalabdhiyan haasil ki hain, bharat aur bharatiya cricket ke liye unhone jo bhi kiya hai, uske liye unin bharat rastna is sammaanit kiya jana chahiye. Kohli recently announced his Test Cricket retirement, ending speculation around his future in the longest format.The 36 -year -old man appeared in 123 test games for India, marking 9,230 points, including 30 centuries, with an average of 46.85. He will now only play in the ODIs, after having moved out of the international T20 last year.

“While I move away from this format, it is not easy – but it feels good. I gave it everything I had, and it made me much more than I could have hoped for,” said Kohli on his Instagram page.“I go away with a heart full of gratitude-for the game, for the people with whom I shared the field, and for each person who made me feel along the way,” he added.Its release marks another major retirement in Indian test cricket, after Ravichandran Ashwin (in December) and Rohit Sharma (last week), who also farewell in the format.
