Microsoft has dismissed around 9,000 employees in the last series of cups

Microsoft said on Wednesday that it will dismiss around 9,000 employees. This decision will affect less than 4% of his global workforce in different teams, geographies and experience levels, said a person familiar with the question at CNBC.
The announcement comes on the second day of Microsoft’s fiscal year 2026. The leaders of the Redmond company, based in Washington, generally reveal reorganizations at the time of the new exercise.
“We continue to implement the organizational changes necessary to best position the company and the teams to succeed in a dynamic market,” said a Microsoft spokesperson in an email.
Microsoft has already organized several series of layoffs this calendar year. In January, it reduced less than 1% of the workforce depending on the performance. The 50 -year -old software company reduced more than 6,000 jobs in May, then at least 300 more in June. In June 2024, he employed 228,000 people. In 2023, he dismissed 10,000.
Perhaps the largest comfort of Microsoft workers came in 2014 when the company eliminated 18,000 after acquiring the activity of nokia devices and services.
As was the case with May’s layoffs, Microsoft seeks to reduce the number of managers of managers between individual contributors and senior executives, said the person who asked not to be named while discussing internal issues.
“To position the games to harden success and allow ourselves to focus on the fields of strategic growth, we will finish or decrease the work in certain areas of the company and follow the example of Microsoft in the abolition of management layers to increase agility and efficiency,” wrote Phil Spencer, CEO of Microsoft’s game, in a memo on Wednesday to the employees of this division.
Microsoft said nearly $ 26 billion in net profit on $ 70 billion in revenues for the March quarter. The figures were well ahead of the consensus of Wall Street, keeping Microsoft classified as one of the most profitable companies in the S&P 500 index, according to data compiled by FostSet.
Managers called for an income growth of around 14% on the other during the June quarter, thanks to the expected expansion of the Azure Cloud Services subscriptions and corporate productivity software.
Microsoft’s actions closed at a record summit of $ 497.45 per share on June 26. It decreased by 0.2% on Wednesday, while the S&P 500 won 0.5%.
Autodesk,, CEGG And Cowsterrike are among the other software suppliers who collapsed in 2025. Earlier Wednesday, Payroll Processing Company ADP said the US private sector lost 33,000 jobs in June. The economists interviewed by Dow Jones had predicted an increase of 100,000.
