Viral sensation Savannah Bananas takes control of the Angel stadium this weekend with two closed games

Anaheim, California (KABC) – America’s favorite pastime had a new look in Anaheim on Friday evening!
The viral sensation Savannah Bananas has taken over Angel Stadium to introduce southern California to its baseball brand.
The best way to describe them is the Harlem Globetrotters for baseball.
The famous “Banana Ball” presents dance routines and performances between the baseball match.
They sold two games at the Angel Stadium this weekend. Friday evening, 45,000 fans were present.
Eyewitness News met some of the players during their training.
“This is something that I know that we have all dreamed of playing in closed counters stadiums, and it’s simply incredible,” said Manhattan Beach Reese Alexiades.
“I have always wanted to play in this stadium specifically. I grew up in matches here. My neighbor has subscriptions, so I went to a lot of Angels games. To be able to be here with the Bananas of Savannah is surreal,” said RobertHony ‘Rac’ Cruz de Fontana.
Bananas have taken off as you think baseball should be played.

The team has won a lot of followers on social networks thanks to extravagant Walk-ups from players, choreographed dance routines and numerous labial synchronization performance.
“To be able to play a game, focus on pleasure and not highlight the results is a good time, and we are also in competition here. You will see. It’s a very high baseball, and we are trying to win,” added Cruz.
“It only breaks the fourth wall. We are encouraged not only to fail on the field by trying games of stuff, but also to get into the stands and make moments of the fans and to do things that you would never do on a baseball field,” added Alexiades.
And their fans go from bananas to the chance to see them play in person.
“It really raises the baseball game. Most children, I have the impression, cannot go through a normal game for two or three hours, but with these guys and the things they do, that really makes children locked,” said Joshua Isleib, a fan of Whittier.
“We have seen things on television. We know people who went to see them. It looked like a very good place to see, and we arrived at the lottery last November. We were notified of the tickets a few months ago,” said if super excited to descend here, “said Mark Damey, another fan of San Jose.
The first ceremonial throw on Friday evening set the tone, thrown by the ancient quarter of the USC, Matt Leinart, who, of course, launched football. It was like a strike against the first striker.
One of the most fun rules added to “Banana Ball” is that if a fan catches a fault ball, it counts as an out.
Elijah Khazin is now perhaps the only 14-year-old to record a outing in a large league park.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes. My legs were shaking and everything,” said Khazin. “I heard the crowd and they got crazy.”
The game is not only done in the crowd, the players even brought young fans to the diamond.
“I gave a high five to probably all banana players, even that of the stilts,” said young fan Jacob Pullman.
There was even a lively baby race, although slow, on the ground.
Savannah bananas received the VIP treatment on Wednesday in Disneyland while thousands of fans welcomed them to the happiest place in the world.
The team, in particular those who have links with Socal, say that it is a stop at the special stand on the world tour of Banana Ball.
“I’m just extremely blessed and grateful that baseball has brought me here. This is exactly where I must be,” said Alexiades.
The bananas play again at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Saturday evening.
