The Swedish boss Jon Dahl Tomasson firmly defended Viktor Gykerres and the beginning he made at Arsenal, saying that his criticisms “have no idea of football”.
Gyokerres arrived in Arsenal in July in an agreement that could increase for a value of 63.5 million pounds Sterling following a stellar spell in Sporting Lisbon.
However, Gyokerres has only scored three goals in 10 games so far for the Gunners. He scored twice in a 5-0 demolition of Leeds United in August, but has not found the net since a 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest on September 13.
It was more than a month since his last Arsenal goal when Gyokerers will return from the international break.
However, Tomasson categorically rejected criticism from his goal record for the leaders of the Premier League of Mikel Arteta.

“Viktor Gyökeres is in very good shape at the moment and is very good,” said Tomasson.
“If people say he has no impact, then they don’t understand football and have no idea of football.
“It creates a space for other players, works on the ball and shopping. It’s excellent and it scores goals almost all the time, so it has an impact and has been very good. It’s always nice, because you need time when you arrive in a new club.”
Gyokerres will try to reimburse Tomasson for his support in a crucial round of world cup qualifications in which Sweden welcomes Switzerland before facing Kosovo.
Sweden drew with Slovenia before undergoing a home defeat in Kosovo in the previous series of qualifications to seriously work their chances of reaching the final of the next year World Cup. They are five points behind group B, Switzerland and two behind Kosovo with four games to play.
