Vikings CB Isaiah Rodgers embracing a new start and preparing for a more important role in Minnesota

The Vikings of the Vikings of Minnesota, Isaiah Rodgers, missed the 2023 NFL season due to a game suspension. Last season, he won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, the last corner half of Minnesota is preparing for a more important role.
“Take advantage of the process while it is here,” said Rodgers at Mini-Camp earlier this week. “Do everything I can do to help the team win and bring a Lombardi to Minnesota.”
Rodgers may not have done so many large national titles when he signed this off-season with the Vikings. But if everything goes as planned, it will be a departure corner and will have a big impact this fall. This is at least what the Vikings defensive coordinator wants.
“He just wants me to be me,” said Rodgers, from Flores. “This is one of the reasons why I came here. He just wants me to go out and use my ball skills and use my knowledge to play games.”
Rodgers, 27, will be twinned with the Pro-Bowler Byron Murphy. It’s only a few weeks, but both corners quickly became friends.
“We play a lot of the game,” said Rodgers. “We wonder each other on the film. You know, how he sees this, how I see it. We go from the limit to the field. So we have fun with the diagram and we are.”
“I would say it’s already my best friend,” said Murphy. “It’s my DAWG. Obviously, I met him when he got here. But we are already playing on online games, we have 2k, all these things. He’s a great guy, a big teammate. But this link is already there.”
And it turns out that Bond and their Coming-and-Coming Competition could lead to some additional Viking reversals. Murphy had six interceptions last year, the third best of the NFL.
“Lots of games on the ball. Many interceptions. He dropped a lot,” said Rodgers, laughing. “He is supposed to have at least more than 10 years. So, just trying to participate in this statistical category with him and to compete.”
“I fell like five or six,” smiles Murphy. “I don’t know the exact number, but I have to compensate for it this year for sure.”
Rodgers should also take into account the return game. He has a return to kick off in a career for a hit so far, which has occurred in 2020. With many other Vikings, he took representatives at this place during the OTA and the Minicamp.
WCCO asked Rodgers if he saw it being part of his work this season.
“Everything to help the team. Just have fun here. Take advantage of the process too.”
