The VP says:

There are essential services that have already been appropriate, where we have already agreed, you know, we want our soldiers to have some payment. We want air traffic control to have a certain amount, we want to make sure that a number of people can access food benefits. You do not close the government because you have a political disagreement on a completely distinct problem and that is what the Democrats have done, and it is really amazing.
To go back 20 years, and almost all the time, that I paid attention to American politics, I saw the Democrats stand before the American people and say: “You do not close the government because you do not get what you want.” And here they are, last night, the distant faction on the left of the Democrats of the Senate, they closed the government. For what? Because they don’t get what they want. And what makes him additional absurd, if you really listen to what they say, they say they want to make sure that this is a premium support program under Obamacare, that they want to continue. VP Vance said:

There are two Biden era programs that explicitly gave money to the health care of taxpayers to illegal foreigners that we deactivated when President Trump took over in January. The number one program is that there is a lot of emergency health care in hospitals that are provided to illegal foreigners who have been funded by the federal government. We have disabled this funding and, of course, we want American citizens to benefit from these hospital services, not to be taxed, then to make these hospital services go to illegal foreigners. The second is that the Biden administration gave a parole of mass to millions and millions of illegal foreigners, then simultaneously made conditional releases eligible for health care services covered by taxpayers. In a major bill, President Trump and the Congress Republicans disabled this money for the financing of health care for illegal foreigners, the Democrats want to put it back.
