Very cold start to the work week

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) -. The weather will remain cool and relatively calm for much of next week.

Winds will shift from southwest to northwest overnight with gusts up to 30 to 40 mph. Strong winds will bring much colder air overnight. Temperatures will drop to between 20 and 25 degrees overnight Monday morning with wind chill values ​​in the single digits!

Highs on Monday will likely only top out in the upper 20s to around 30. Expect mostly sunny/partly cloudy skies on Monday. Overnight lows Monday night into Tuesday morning will fall into the teens. Wind chills can be as low as the numbers. Highs on Tuesday will only top out in the lower 30s.

High pressure will keep the weather fairly calm for much of next week. Temperatures will moderate to near normal for the middle and end of next week, peaking between 30 and 40 degrees.
