T-Series and JP Films have unveiled the first poster of Varun Dhawan from the much-awaited Bollywood war drama ‘Border 2’.
The poster reveals Dhawan in an intense and action-packed avatar as an Indian soldier on the battlefield, brandishing a gun and dressed in full military uniform. The powerful image shows the actor in what producers are calling a “never before seen” transformation, embodying the grit and spirit that have become synonymous with the “Border” franchise.
This reveal follows the recent unveiling of the first poster featuring franchise star Sunny Deol. With the addition of Dhawan, the film aims to introduce “a new generation of courage” while honoring the legacy of brotherhood and sacrifice that defined the original.
Set in 1971, “Border” was titled Sunny Deol and took place along the border region of Longewala, where a small battalion of Indian soldiers fought a large Pakistani strike force.
“Border 2” is directed by Anurag Singh who previously directed “Kesari” (2019) with Akshay Kumar, based on the Battle of Saragarhi in which an army of 21 Sikhs fought against 10,000 Afghans in 1897.
‘Border 2’ features a cast including Deol, Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh and Sonam Bajwa. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta, with Krishan Kumar joining the production team.
The sequel is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Dutta’s JP Films, continuing the franchise’s tradition of honoring the heroism of Indian soldiers through stories of patriotism and sacrifice.
“Border 2” is strategically scheduled for release on January 23, 2026, capitalizing on the Republic Day holiday setting to deliver what the makers say will be “one of the most anticipated cinematic experiences of 2026.”
