Abbott Elementary’s most surprising friendship addressed by star Chris Perfetti

Chris Perfetti of Abbott Elementary opens onto the most surprising friendship of the show, that between his character, Jacob Hill and Melissa Schementi (Lisa Ann Walter). When the show started, no one would have thought that Jacob and Melissa would have the friendship they would now do. Melissa was a teacher at Abbott Elementary For many years, unlike Jacob, and has a more realistic vision of what it means to be a teacher and what accompanies him, compared to Jacob. Despite these differences, Melissa and Jacob became roommates in season 3 after her break with Zach.
During an interview ScreenPerfetti discussed Jacob’s improbable friendship and Melissa and if their relationship had changed since they became roommates. The friendship of Jacob and Melissa has remained above all the same since season 1 and is the perfect example of the way the opposites attract each other. Despite their very different personalities, they were able to form a surprising link based on respect and their shared love for their students.
Screenrant: Jacob’s friendship and Melissa was unexpected. How would you say that their employment relationship has changed since they have become roommates?
Chris Perfetti: I wouldn’t say much. I have the impression that Melissa is a character who is a kind of nut difficult to break. I love Lisa so much. It is such a strange thing to be with a character as long because I know this character almost as long as I know Lisa, and the line between Lisa and Melissa blurs. Obviously, she is such a good actor and she can do everything, but it is interesting to see how our writers somehow steal things from our lives and what they know about us as people and somehow infused these characters.
But Lisa is, like Melissa, endlessly loyal and a fierce protector of the people who are close to his heart. I love him as much as no one, and I’m so happy that they started it last season. I have the impression that there is no longer to do. There is no more to milk the fact that they are roommates, and therefore I hope that Jacob will not move anytime soon. All this is to say, she, I think, slightly softened simply because we are under the same roof, but I think that we have seen this season that she gives her as much sh * t as always, and I think that says more about this character than on the situation in which they are. But it’s pretty fun.
Quinta was really good, sometimes, to reverse people’s expectations and show you a soft basement of these people, but not to throw what works about them. So, as you said, it was really fun to see Jacob win a little last year, but he will not become a new person overnight.
He is a three-dimensional person, and we will therefore see, hope, win and lose and ridicule himself and perhaps find love. But the things that make Jacob, Jacob, being just a kind of social puppy and neurotic and a little naive and too relarged, these things will never disappear. It’s just who he is. He will always say something he shouldn’t.
What Jacob’s friendship and Melissa means for Abbott Elementary Season 5
Their friendship is entertaining
Jacob’s friendship and Melissa has become one of the most entertaining parts of Abbott Elementary. While they started as freema, their relationship has turned into a surprisingly gentle and united friendship, especially after they became roommates in season 3. The difficult attitude of Melissa, associated with the clumsy and warm personality of Jacob, creates a friendly and fairly hilarious friendship.

Our point of view on the friendship of Jacob and Melissa
They will always be there for each other
Jacob and Melissa are the most unlikely friends to Abbott ElementaryAnd their relationship is the most fun to watch. They seem to be total opposites, but that’s exactly what makes their friendship work. Jacob and Melissa are very favorable to each other, even if they do not express it as most friends would. Melissa brought Jacob to come as a roommate after her breakup proves that the pair has a real friendship, even if they do not want to admit it outright. Anyway, Jacob and Melissa will always have the back of the other.
