Vanna White Admits She Almost Quit ‘Wheel of Fortune’ When Longtime Partner Pat Sajak Retired in 2024
Vanna White worked alongside the host Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune for more than 40 years, but when he decided to retire in 2024, she almost resigned too.
“When Pat decided he was going to retire, I had to make a decision,” the 68-year-old reveals to AND! News. “Working with someone for this long, I [felt] like maybe I should go with him.
“But I thought long and hard and I said, ‘You know what? I’m just not ready to retire yet. I’m having fun. I feel good. I feel healthy.’ So at this point, it’s one year at a time.

White, who shares two adult children, Nicholas31 years old, and Giovanna28 years old, with her ex-husband Georges Saint Pierrejoined the show in 1982, a year after Sajak, now 79, began his gig.
Even though he is gone, she still enjoys her work with her new partner. Ryan Seacrest50 years old, whom she met for the first time 20 years ago.

“We have a certain basic friendship. We get along very well,” she insists. “I think our chemistry is good.”
“He’s such a nice guy, he’s so professional and hardworking, and we just manage each other. This is our second year together, and it feels like it’s been forever. Everything has gone perfectly.”
