Valerie June returns to Santa Barbara for her “ Owls tour, omens and oracles

Ready for a night of eccentric performance filled with music that affects a myriad of musical genres? Look no further than the next show of Valerie June au lbero Theater on June 15 at 7:30 p.m. June is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist of the Grammy Award Prize and is currently on tour to promote his recent album, Nice, omen and oracles.
June will be accompanied by the special guest Mick Flannery, and for her performance, a live group, for which she expressed a lot of enthusiasm. It will be the second June show in Santa Barbara. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased here.
Originally from Tennessee, June has been doing music for over 20 years and was congratulated for the way she weaves different musical genres. For this most recent album, June worked with music producer M. Ward to create something particularly special for her. This album also presents contributions from the Blind Boys of Alabama, Norah Jones, and more.
The musical creation of this album was a long process of writing, recording, mixing and production. Although it mainly goes back and forth between Tennessee and New York, June stressed that she had the opportunity to record songs in California. She remembers having been able to go out and be surrounded by nature, which, according to her, has really inspired some of the songs. For her, sharing music with a live audience is always a special experience that she is impatiently awaiting, especially in lobero.
In addition to musical performance, June joked the expectation of exploring the surroundings more. His first taste of Santa Barbara in 2023 excited him to return to the city to reconnect with fans and the city.
“I get older with them and they age with me,” she continued. “It is a totally different level of being an artist.” She recalled how in previous programs, she recognized certain fans who returned to watch her live. The appreciation and dedication of fans are part of what dries and inspires their musical journey.
She is also looking forward to playing lobero, a place she believes to be a good managing size for her. She is already looking forward to the opportunity to meet and greet the fans after her performance.
“My fans are incredible people and they just have a good heart,” she said. This connection of fans is important with it as an artist who continues to grow.
But in addition to maintaining a solid link with his fans, June’s work extends beyond the scene. She published her first lyric poetry book, Cards for the modern world, In 2021, followed by two other pictures of images. In 2022, Someone to love: the story of the sweet little baby of Valerie June Banjolele has been published and is based on how June wrote Someone to love. More recently, Light power: a workbook to be your hard to cookF was published in 2023 and is an interactive review that emphasizes kindness and love.

“I am an artist who likes to hold a space in the community to share art,” she explained. Thanks to the editing and interaction of fans, June seeks to pursue her goal of finding new ways to connect with those around him.
But June also brought his music into the classroom; She visited elementary schools to read books and share music by bringing instruments such as her banjo, her guitar and her ukulele.
