Vaibhav Suryavanshi as talented as Sachin Tendulkar, to make his debut in India soon? Ex-BCCI Selector Answers

Before making his debut in India at the age of 16, Tendulkar had marked hundreds in the Ranji trophy, the Duleep trophy, the Deodhar trophy and the Irani Cup.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has reached celebrity as most do not do it at the age of 14. To play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), undoubtedly the most competitive T20 tournament in the world, is not easy. But Suryavanshi not only made his debut. In his third match for the Royals of Rajasthan (RR), the Southpaw scored a hundred.

Currently, he has the record to be the youngest Centurion in T20 history. But that’s not all. After Chris Gayle, Suryavanshi is also the one who struck the fastest IPL. He has all the talents once in generation. Naturally, this led him to be compared to Sachin Tresulkar.

Should not compare Tendulkar & Suryavanshi

Considered the biggest man cricket player, Tendulkar had already made his debut in India at 16. He is the youngest striker to mark a hundred test in Australia, England and South Africa. Furthermore, no one more than he has half a country in testing cricket in Pakistan and New Zealand. He is the definition of a unique cricket player.

Two years younger than the age of tendulkar when he made his debut, has Suryavanshi the same pedigree as him? According to the former Indian selector and the former Tendulkar team, Venkatapathy Raju, we should all wait for the young person to happen in domestic cricket and then think of judging him with Tendulkar or making allegations about him which made his debut in India soon.

“Yes, yes, he will take a lot of time. He must be one of those guys who must do well in the U-19 World Cups. He must play a little in domestic cricket. And we can give time. You see, in terms of talent, we have already seen, what he can do with a white ball, right?” Raju, who was a selector of India from 2007 to 08, told PTI.

“It depends on consistency, right?” We are a fervent believer. We could talk about someone like Sachin, right? First, the beginnings of the Ranji trophy, he has 100. Duleep Trophy, he has 100. The rest of India, he has 100, right? Every three days, four days or five days. not? We can still bring it in, ” He said.

If we compare the trajectory, Suryavanshi is ahead in terms of age but not success. He represented the Bihar in the Ranji trophy, the Vijay Hazare trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy but has only fifty sleeves. He did well in the AC-19 ASIA 2024 Cup and is currently part of the U19 team from India, which runs in England.

But as Raju mentions, it would not be fair to compare Tendulkar and Suryavanshi for one or the other. You have to let the 14 -year -old develop his game. Prove himself in the domestic circuit and continue to prosper in the IPL before drawing conclusions. Young prodigies can often not reproduce their past success and no one wants that Suryavanshi is a forgotten player by pushing him too early in international cricket.
