V Chamundeswaranath succeeds Dilip Vengsarkar as ICA players’ representative on BCCI Apex Council | Cricket News

MUMBAI: V Chamundeswaranath has replaced former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar as the players’ representative on the BCCI Supreme Council. He was previously a member of the IPL Governing Council, a position which has now been taken over by former Indian women’s team captain Shubhangi Kulkarni. Kulkarni was earlier part of the Apex Council as a women’s candidate. Vengsarkar completed his three-year term, which began in 2022, in the Supreme Council. The Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) 2025 general elections were held on October 15 and 16. Former Indian women’s team captain Shantha Rangaswamy has been elected as the first-ever president of the ICA.
Chamundeswaranath, former Andhra captain, joins the Board of Governors in place of Dilip Vengsarkar. “This election marks a landmark moment for the ICA, with two women now serving on the ICA Board of Directors and, for the first time, a female President and a female appointee to the IPL Board of Directors – reflecting the association’s commitment to inclusive representation and progressive leadership,” the ICA said in a statement.
