UVU looks like ___ in summer

Utah Valley University, as in many other universities on a national scale, has registrations for students lower than summer semester. This does not mean that the campus stops buzzing, or that the liberal arts and the Rebecca Lockhart highway stop flowing. Instead, the activities that fulfill UVU rooms are FSY groups, volleyball tournament athletes or Jumpstart orientation students. There is also training and recruitment for positions that start in the fall and inter-off celebrations. Does that raise the question, what does UVU look in summer?
“It’s quite social and cold,” said the future senior Julia Henika. She shared her academic experience in UVU this summer, but she also expressed her appreciation for summer social events that provided a welcome break. “I’m stressed quite easily, so it’s good that we have things like the summer film series.” Asked about the series of summer films, she said it was a cinema event held every Thursday by Uvusa during the summer to help students remain involved in the life of the campus during the summer. “I appreciate that they do this because it helps me get out of my apartment for something other than school or work.”
This feeling is taken up by the crowd which regularly attends these events. The examination has seen solo viewers and groups of friends ranging from 2 to 3 people to figures greater than 10. They will gather on blankets or will use the chairs that Uvusa provides to bring together in their groups. Occasional conversations with some of these groups reveal the regular guests for these events – people who show up every Thursday to watch each film. Other conversations reveal fans of specific films, such as students on Acapella of Pitch Perfect.
For students who love films and summer activities, one of the conversations that criticism has had with students revealed that Wolverine Crossing, one of the complexes near the UVU for student accommodation, also makes cinema evenings every Wednesday evenings during the summer, and this complex also provides free food for each film.
First -year student Mikayla Billings also shared what UVU looks like him during the summer. “It is full of various non -school events.” She said that she would meet FSY groups on the lake edge or the lower half of the campus during the week, and that she was recognized by some FSY participants and that she also recognized them. “I see some of the people with whom I went to FSY in previous years, except that I am now at university and they are still in high school.” She developed this statement saying: “It’s weird, but it’s also fun to see that UVU is more than just a university with lessons every day. It is also a summer camp host, events and fun activities.”
Summer is also when the orientations of Jumstart take place. UVU has students from the seven schools and colleges who graduate each year, and graduate courses continue to increase. With the number of UVU graduates, there are also first -year students who are starting every fall, spring and summer who attend the guidelines of the first year of the Experience Bureau. Entranty first -year students go to the corridors led by their heads of current students, and crowds come together in the large ballroom of the Sorenson Student Center while these Jumstart orientations are preparing the next wave and the generation of UVU students.

This Jumstart orientation takes place at least once a week during the summer, and with FSY, they do their part to keep UVU’s corridors alive. The rooms are not the only thing that is kept alive either. One Friday of each month, staff and students meet outside the Clarke Building while the summer series of Fridays of catering trucks organized by UVU’s People and Culture Office begins. Employed students, part -time and full -time staff receive food vouchers and guests from all over the university come together to buy food from the variety of catering trucks provided. The ranges of catering trucks also change from Friday to Friday.
Another Friday tradition that begins in summer is the Fresh Food Friday series of Care Hub, which continues in the fall semester. You will often find students there, that they take a break in the courses to which they follow this semester, or that they take an academic break and are on campus for another reason.
And although academics are always an objective in a university, UVU students also have different opportunities in leadership programs such as UVUSA jobs and campus like the heads of guidance mentioned above. The training of these students also occurs during the summer, alongside student leadership in campus resources and offices such as the area or the specialization program.
Although UVU students are not registered in the same force and the same figures during the summer, the campus does not cease to be occupied. Summer in UVU looks like a lot. He looks academic. He also looks incredibly social, with many events for everyone. Summer in UVU is full of leadership training, and this is also where you will capture campus growth among new first -year students and potential students in all activities on campus. Like the academic experience and the nuance of this for each student, the participation of the campus also offers variety, even in summer – less busy and full – semester.
