USDA Expands Recall of More Than 3 Million Pounds of Frozen Meat Products Sold Nationwide

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has expanded its recall affecting more than three million pounds of frozen meat products sold nationwide.

On October 4, Foster Poultry Farms, LLC recalled 3,961,138 pounds of chicken and turkey dog products that may have pieces of wood embedded in the dough. On October 17, an additional 118,098 pounds of meat were added to the recall.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) received several complaints related to the recall – six of which involved injuries – and classified the recall as “Class I,” meaning the products have a “reasonable probability” of “serious adverse health consequences or death” if consumed.

The recalled products were manufactured between July 30, 2024 and August 4, 2025 and sold in retail stores nationwide, including Walmart and Sam’s Club.

Recalled Foster Farms products include:

  • Corn Dog Chicken Franks Dipped in Honey Batter

  • Chicken Corn Dogs Frank Honey Batter Dipped Chicken on a Stick

All products have the establishment number “P-6137B” on the packaging. A complete list of products, including package sizes, use-by dates, and label images, is available on the FSIS website.

This Foster Farms recall follows a similar recall initiated in September by The Hillshire Brands Company of approximately 58 million pounds of corn dogs and sausages on sticks, also possibly contaminated with pieces of wood in the dough.

The recalled products are no longer on store shelves, but FSIS is concerned that some products may still be in consumers’ refrigerators and freezers.

If you have one of these products at home, FSIS recommends that you do not eat it, but instead throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
