US Open: why the best came from Emma Raducanu despite the defeat of defeat against Elena Rybakina | Tennis news

The former British No. 1 Tim Henman thinks that the best is to come from Emma Raducanu despite his open defeat in the United States in the hands of Elena Rybakina.
Raducanu had crossed the third round in New York, winning her first two games for the loss of only six games, but here she was at the reception as being Former Wimbledon champion Rybakina took a 6-1 6-2 victory in just 62 minutes.
The defeat puts an end to a season of what could have been for Raducanu to the great chelems, the 22-year-old who did not have progressed beyond the third round to one of them, having met Iga Swiatek twice, Aryna Sabalenka and now Rybakina.
Against Swiatek and Rybakina, she managed to win only seven games in three games, while her confrontation with Sabalenka in Wimbledon was much closer and had inspired the confidence she could compete with the best.
Talk to Sky SportsThe former semi-finalist of the United States Henman said: “For Raducanu, it’s going to be raw, it’s going to be disappointing.
“Rybakina was too good. But when the dust is deposited and Raducanu is able to sit with her team, she absolutely moves in the right direction.
“She must continue to work on this process, the more she does, the more she will have an impact in these major tournaments.
“Disappointing at the moment, but the best is yet to come.”
Putting your rankings back to the top 20 and therefore avoiding these matches in the first laps should be a priority for Raducanu, which has few points to defend in the coming months.
Hope must also be that its new coaching partnership with the Spaniard Francisco Roig endure after a positive start.
“Raducanu will leave with all his team and analyze this,” said Henman. “She was against a top 10 player, one of the best on the market, and there were a lot of positive points during this season of the territory, but it was a bit of a reality.
“A difficult day, but Raducanu will get a lot.
“She came out with this aggressive ball attachment, which is her bread and her butter. This is why she is a Grand Chelem champion.
“She really went after the Raducanu service, obtained this early break and the momentum has just built and building.
“It was a very complete and coherent performance of Rybakina. It was a bit of a victory for her.”
Bartoli: Raducanu will learn to play the best players
The former Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli, thinks that Raducanu will learn by taking the best players in the world.
“What is very positive is that Raducanu started her American swing all the way to Washington – she played non -stop tennis, without injuring herself,” said the former quarter of the United States.
“She played a very good tennis and, yes, she is lost to the 10 best players, but it is not to be ashamed.
“This is only the start of the points against the best ball players with whom she has a little trouble.
“But who would not be fighting with that? I was on the edge of the court and the ball came back so quickly from Rybakina, and so constantly.
“The more you play against the best players, the more you learn, and we will then see it go down a little faster.”
Did Raducanu deceived his tactics?
The former Junior Wimbledon champion, Laura Robson, believes that Raducanu did not commit himself tactically, allowing Rybakina to intervene and take control.
“Rybakina played a big match there. In terms of writing, she played so freely, going for her shots. She was never rushed, it was the great thing that stood out,” said Robson.
“Raducanu was not tactically engaged. Sometimes it seemed to try to strike big, but then the next point, she would take half a step back.
“It gave Rybakina this easy rhythm with which to work with, and she was just able to exert as pressure on Raducanu.”
