JJ SPAUN’s press conference on Wednesday before the traveler championship could have been the longest that he has been sitting since his victory on Sunday.

“It was quite eventful but also very fun,” said Spaun, whose dramatic Birdie-Birdie finished at Oakmont Country Club gave him a two-stroke victory on Robert Macintyre of Scotland and his first major championship.

“It’s nice to have the opportunity to express my feelings, my emotions. Many people want to hear from me. I was really grateful to have the opportunity to talk to everyone,” he said. “So I enjoyed it. It was a fun moment.”

Spaun celebrated with a stopover on Monday evening in New York on Monday evening, where he dined with his family, but said that he had not been able to catch up before Tuesday evening.

He has received congratulations from several celebrities, including actor and actor George Lopez and the star of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Mookie Betts, and the great Golf Curtis Strange and Hale Irwin.

Spaun, 34, said that he was looking forward to bringing his momentum in the signing event of the PGA Tour season, which begins Thursday in Cromwell, Conn.

“Super excited,” he said. “I couldn’t play here last year. I love the region. I love the course. Such a good course they have here at TPC River Highlands. It looks like we are also going to have good weather, so it’s good. Just excited to get the week.”

Spaun, who missed the cup the last two times he was with travelers in 2022 and 2023, said that he was still used to being a major champion.

“I still haven’t been able to take advantage of it and I have no responsibilities,” he said. “It would be nice to sit on my sofa at home and have the trophy seated right next to me and watch a sportscenter ” or something, but that’s how I like to enjoy things, just a little vegetables, especially after long weeks on the road and big tournaments.”

Spaun said he wanted to savor his revolutionary victory without becoming complacent.

“I really need to keep hungry there. I think I will be hungry just because I want to continue to prove me, but do not prove me someone other than me, and it is my biggest barrier throughout my career, it’s just to try not to be so hard with myself and not to ruin.

“As long as I continue, I think I will continue to play well, and obviously, winning the United States open will be a huge boost to this kind of inner ego, I suppose you could say, to keep this belief alive and burning.”
