US Open asks the broadcasters not to ventilate crowds for Trump

The organizers of the American tennis tournament this year asked the broadcasters to avoid broadcasting clips by Donald Trump hired by the crowd, the Guardian reported. Trump – Formerly a frequent participant of the annual sporting event – should attend the male final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcarez.

An email sent by the organizers said Trump will be shown on the screen during the national anthem.

“We ask all the broadcasters to refrain from showing any disruption or reaction in response to the president’s attendance in any title,” said the email, according to the Guardian report on Saturday.

When he was asked how he thought of Trump’s visit, Alcarez told journalists: “It is a privilege for tournaments to have the president of each country just to support the tournament, support tennis and support the match.”

“For me, playing in front of him, I will try not to focus on this, and I will try not to think about it. I don’t want me to be nervous because of that, but I think, attending the tennis match, it’s great for tennis to bring the president in the final,” he continued.

The news drew attention to social networks, where journalist Molly Jong-Fast shared the Guardian article and added: “A president so popular than …”.

“A president so popular that Maga and the Republican Party continue to invent new reasons for being furious,” replied the Beltway Times account.
