US Open 2025: Carlos Alcaraz wins in front of Trump

Carlos Alcaraz won the second US Open title in his career on Sunday with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory against Jannik Sinner.

The Spanish tennis superstar won the title of the Grand Slam before President Donald Trump, who was present for the final of male singles. Trump was present for the first time since 2015.

Alcaraz capitalized with the service in the eighth game of the fourth set. He then put all his energy in the 10th match, capitalizing on some of the unlocked errors to sinner.

The sinner had trouble with his service during the match. The Italian entered the final as one of the best, but he had four double faults and only two aces during the match. He could not overcome his difficulties in winning victory.

Trump was a big goal of the match. He entered the Arthur Ashe stadium with less than an hour before the start of the match. But an increase in safety measures around the building maintained a ton of fans outside at the start of the event. The match started at 2:30 p.m. he.

Alcaraz seemed to be interested in Trump’s appearance before the final.

“I think it is a privilege for the tournaments to have the president of each country just to support the tournament, support tennis and support the match,” he said, via the Guardian. “For me, play in front of him … I will try not to think about it.

“I don’t want me to be nervous because of that, but I think that to attend the tennis match, it’s great for tennis to have the president in the final.”

Trump was seen applauding Alcaraz after concluding the match.

Alcaraz won his first US Open title in 2022 against Casper Ruud. This year, Alcaraz won the French Open earlier this year and lost in the Wimbledon final. He finished in the quarter -finals of Australian Open.

The 22 -year -old has six Grand Chelem titles on his CV, the Australian Open being the only major tournament he has not won.
