A massive failure impacting more than 11,000 customers in the County of Santa Cruz

PG & E said that more than 11,000 customers are without electricity in the Watsonville region on Friday. The breakdown was reported at 9:23 a.m. and has an impact on 11,285 customers. “There is an unforeseen breakdown in your region. Our team assesses the electrical system to identify the damaged sections and make the necessary repairs in order to safely reactivate the power,” said PG & E in a press release. According to the city of Watsonville, power should be restored before 1:45 p.m., the cause of the failure is unknown. “We are aware that certain signaling fires do not work; we ask motorists to treat non-work fires as a global stop and treat each entry of an intersection as a stop panel,” said the city of Watsonville.
