Update of transunion regulations: do not miss the deadline for your part of the payment of the credit report of $ 23 million

The deadline approaches quickly to register to obtain a payment as part of a collective appeal which has accused a major credit violation office of the law on credit reports.
Transunion agreed with a settlement of 23 million dollars to resolve the accusations that he did not properly invest in the litigation of consumer requests on their credit files or that he has not deleted the disputed complaints.
The deadline for submitting a complaint is June 24, 2025.
Credit offices have 30 days to investigate and resolve disputes within 30 days of a complaint, or 45 days if the consumer sends additional information to support their dispute, according to federal law. At the end of the survey, within five working days, consumers must be informed of the results.
“Transunion has agreed with certain changes in processes concerning consumers’ challenges to difficult demands which, in our view, comply with our commitment to put consumers first,” Transunion said in NJ Advance Media last month.

Consumers are included in the regulations if they have received a so-called “502 letters” of transunion in response to a dispute between December 5, 2016 and January 31, 2025, said the payment website.
Consumers concerned will automatically receive a payment from $ 20 to $ 30, depending on the number of complaints that are submitted. But those who “have undergone certain damages” because of how Transunion has managed their dispute can reach $ 160 if they submit an online complaint, said the payment website.
