“How can you say no to Jannik Sinner’s advice?”

Jasmine Paolini recently said that her compatriot Jannik Sinner gave her some careful advice to improve her game. However, Paolini did not specifically reveal what advice Sinner gave her. The Italian WTA star is currently competing at the 2025 Wuhan Open, where, as the No. 7 seed, she has secured her qualification for the third round.

According to Paolini, Sinner pointed out a flaw in her game and explained how she could fix it to her ex-coach during last year’s Davis Cup final. Subsequently, his ex-coach relayed the message to him. Talk to Tennis365WTA No. 8 declared:

“Last year, during the Davis Cup final, my ex-coach Renzo (Furlan) was talking with Jannik and I was surprised because he said I wasn’t doing anything on the pitch. I can’t say what it is because my opponents will know then!”

Claiming to have followed the advice of the former ATP No. 1 and four-time Major champion, Jasmine Paolini added:

“My coach came to me and said, ‘Jannik said you have to do this.’ I mean, when Jannik tells you to do something, you just have to do it. How can you say no to Jannik’s advice?”

Although he is still only 24 years old, Jannik Sinner’s brilliant achievements so far have already made him the most successful male tennis player Italy has produced. Jasmine Paolini, in the same interview with Tennis365acknowledged his compatriot’s profound influence on contemporary Italian tennis and also praised him for the person he is off the tennis court.

“He does amazing things on the court and I think people like the way he behaves on and off the court because he’s a really nice guy. He’s a good role model. It’s very good for our sport in Italy and it’s good for our sport. Tennis is growing in Italy because of him,” Paolini said.

Jannik Sinner played a pivotal role in Italy as a two-time defending Davis Cup champion and is expected to once again spearhead his country’s run at this year’s international men’s team tennis event.

Meanwhile, Jasmine Paolini will look to maintain her participation at the Wuhan Open 2025. The 29-year-old, who beat Yue Yuan 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the second round after receiving a first-round bye, is set to face tenth seed Clara Tauson in the WTA 1000 hard-court event.
